Some of My Favourite Fun and Fabulous Links – October 2015

Favourite Fun & Fabulous Links October 2015 | Not Dressed As Lamb
I’m sharing some really great posts about embracing our age, make-up throughout history and the Advanced Style ladies for October – and lots more.

And you may have noticed that the favourite fun and fabulous links post has moved! As I’ve had a bit of a reshuffle of the days I post, I’ve decided to move this post to the fourth Wednesday of the month. And yes, I know today isn’t the fourth Wednesday… I’m catching up on October today and normal service (with the new slot) will resume from 25th November.

Enjoy – and Happy Humpday!

How to get your sh*t together in 60 seconds. Amusing AND helpful.

Your faith in men will be restored beyond anything you could possibly imagine in this story of a man who was upset that his wife felt the need to be heavily Photoshopped in a boudoir photoshoot.

Michelle has done a brilliant survey asking bloggers what they charge for sponsored posts. The results are quite shocking – and vary enormously.

An absolutely stunning illustration of Poppy made with a blend of digital art and hand-drawn Indian ink by Caroline Tomlinson (she takes commissions! #christmasideas).

Cutting a round birthday cake “on scientific principles” is the best thing I’ve seen in ages – cutting off wedges like a pie chart now looks really illogical.

Ladies, isn’t it time we embraced our age? Kate ponders this and looks a million dollars at the same time.

Amber proving that all-grey looks fabulous on a redhead and that Scotland can have freakishly beautiful weather in the autumn.

What happened when Sacramento, one of my favourite 50+ bloggers, met some of the amazing Advanced Style ladies in New York.

I’m obsessed with long coats and blazers, and this longline checked blanket coat from Marks & Spencer is no exception (and currently has 20% off)!

And if you haven’t seen pro make-up artist Lisa Eldridge’s video of the best and worst moments in make up history, watch it now.

Which of these were your favourites?

Good links… I clicked on a few and went down the internet rabbit hole. The man whi didn't want his wife photoshopped, so sweet. Kate in aging… ha I gave a little encouragement from my age point of view.

Ummm, how have I gone 43 years into my life without knowing Lisa!!? It's my Friday night, and she just provided me with the best makeup entertainment. She's like the classiest vlogger/Youtuber I've EVER seen! Wow!!

Have a great weekend Catherine! (And if by chance Lisa reads this too, you as well Lisa!!)

Thanks Ann – Lisa is a professional MUA to the stars rather than a Youtuber, she just has a YT channel as well. She was on TV over here for a while in 10 Years Younger – don't know if you had your own version of that somewhere you've lived? I know they do it in New Zealand!

Great collection. I loved the history of makeup, and learned a few things from the blogger-fee survey! xox

    Brilliant round up, Catherine.
I am always in awe of your ability to find these fab links and put them together to make our lives easier.
My favourite is Sacramento in New York. She is an amazing lady, there is no one quite like her out there.
Away from aesthetics, and from a completely practical point of view, the article on sponsored posts was really interesting. I know nothing about this subject, but it was an insight into how things work.
    Thank you.

Sacramento it's my pleasure! Your trip looked absolutely wonderful, how lucky that you got to meet these iconic ladies (and not forgetting the fact that they got to meet you, too)! xx
