Multi-Coloured Belted Wrap & Flared Jeans #iwillwearwhatilike

Multi-coloured belted wrap, flared jeans
“Bold pattern” has to be one of my favourite #iwillwearwhatilike themes so far!

The theme is, as always, optional but I’d especially love to see what bright, bold patterns you’ve got to show off this week. Scroll down to see all details about the link up!

This (incredibly bright) wrap is by Tommy Hilfiger and I got it for a steal at TK Maxx years ago (last seen here). I’ve seen the belted wrap look a lot on Pinterest lately, and I’ve been wanting to try it myself for ages. My wrap is very large and rectangular, but belting would work with any poncho-style wrap or oversized scarf. With temperatures in the UK dropping to below zero over the weekend I needed the layers – and yes, I’ve succumbed to tights under jeans for the first time this season.

I’m nice and toasty and I’m not complaining!

I think the dark denim flares were the perfect style jean to wear with this wrap – they’re a good neutral contrast to the brightness of the pattern. I’m also fully aware of the Clint Eastwood/Man with No Name vibes I’m giving off with the combination of fedora and ‘poncho’. The husband kept humming the tune to “The Good the Bad and the Ugly” at me and I still have it stuck in my head…!

Talking of flares: Reaching for them much more often than skinnies now. All those platform boots I bought a few years ago are now my friend.

Let me know what your favourite bold patterns are! Plus do you think skinnies have [almost] had their day? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @notlamb!

#iwillwearwhatilike link up | Not Dressed As Lamb

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

So link up all your fabulous outfits (or shoes, accessories, make-up, etc.) every Monday at 3pm UK time – it’ll stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

I'm definitely more of a "neutrals" girl, dearest Catherine…but adding some bright, bold pattern to my look via a scarf like this fringy Tommy Hilfiger beauty?! That's something I think I need to try for myself!! I have, however, been a fan of flares for a while, too…I'm actually featuring them in my own look today!! P.S. You've got my vote for "Best Fashion Blogger" in the bag!! XOXO

So you know Norbyah right? Well, she and some other very fashionable peeps in Hong Kong hosted a swap the other day, and I picked up a couple of Norbyah's cardigans. I'm not sure how I will style them, but this belted look, I've gotta try it. Sensational.

And honey, BLUE is your color!! So pretty on you.

As always, thank you for the sensational link up (that I look forward to all week long;).

Love, Ann from Kremb de la Kremb

  8. 24 November 2015 / 3:27 am

Love the Clint Eastwood look! Not sure how he would have looked in flared jeans though?! I am such a jean fan that I love all styles, especially flares, but I love skinnys too. My mood determines what jeans style I wear so I never get rid of any. Your flares are so great and the boots are perfect. Thank you for hosting.

I love this wrap and the way you belted it is perfect. The colours you've combined also look rather amazing, I especially love the colours of your shoes. The way they pop against the denim is stunning. 🙂

    Take care,
    Daniella xox

Catherine, first of all thank you for another opportunity to make new friends through your link up party. Next, well I really don't know where to start with this fantastic mix today. I love the hat, and the boots and most of all the multi coloured wrap! Even the flared jeans are the right choice to pull this look off. Yes, a bit Clint Eastwood, but hey in such a good way and how sexy is he? You look fab as ever.

Tights under jeans ….welcome to my world!
I love being cosy and I do not restrict layering to my top half…tights, jeans, wooly socks…all happily layered up. It feels good.
I laughed out loud at your Clint Eastwood comment.
I too had that vibe when I wore a tartan cape over a denim gilet, a few weeks ago now, one of my bosses asked me if I was off to a fancy dress party as Mr Eastwood. I have to admit that I did give off that vibe….especially with my cropped hair (maybe I needed to sort out my moustache?? Hahaha)
    Cheeky man!
At least you have your long hair and a pink pop to steer you away from " The Good, the Bad and The Ugly" territory….:oP
The theme of this week's link up is perfect for me!
I had plenty of bold and bright things to choose from, great for this time of year.
    Dark mornings need brightened up!
    Thank you for hosting.

      aww Janise thank you, though I don't know if that's possible…!! ;))

  16. 23 November 2015 / 5:51 pm

Darn! I was hoping for a close-up of the boots. They look amazing.

I had a very similar look on my blog about 3 weeks ago and referenced Clint Eastwood as well.

    bisous
    Suzanne

    • 24 November 2015 / 12:06 am

Amazing, isn't it Suzanne how just a poncho and hat makes people go: Clint!!!! And hopefully you've got my tweet of the boots from another shoot now… I thought about a close up but it would have meant hoiking up my jeans and I couldn't think of a "natural" way to do it! Thank you sweetie x

  17. 23 November 2015 / 5:49 pm

I really love the colours in this look, one of my favourites! I habe bold oriental print PJs on my blog this week, couldn't be more appropriate for this link up! X

    • 24 November 2015 / 12:04 am

Ooh you might be the only oriental print on the link up, Porcelina…! And thank you xo

  19. 23 November 2015 / 3:37 pm

    Hi Cathereine!
I love everything about this, all of the color especially the purple boots and blue hat. I have been obsessing over boots lately. hard to find ones with a small heel. The scarf looks wonderful styled this way and the fringe fun and trendy! Love it with the flared jeans. I hope to do a week of jean looks, inspiring my friend!
