My Top 8 Favourite (and Best) Blog Posts of All Time

My Top 8 Favourite (and Best) Posts of All Time | Not Dressed As Lamb
Doing a little blog housework the other day (a bit of tidying up and sorting out my categories), I came across several posts that I stopped to read for the first time in a long time. It made me think that my readers may not ever get to see these posts – some of which I’m very proud of and enjoy reading again – so I thought it made sense to do a little favourite / best blog posts round up.

I’ve gone for a mixture of outfit posts for their style and photography, some musings, some blogging tips and a milestone achievement post, and tried to choose the very best of each of those types. There were many I was forced to miss out – I could have chosen a lot more than just eight! – but if you want to see the different categories check out my Outfits page; Blogging Tips; Photography Tips; Fashion & Style Thoughts; Health, Ageing & Self Image; my Bloggers You Should Know series or Ways to Wear series.

Don’t forget there is also a Search box in my sidebar (under the Blog Archive) where you can type in keywords if there’s something you’re looking for. Or why not tweet me @notlamb if there’s something you’ve searched for but can’t find…?

Otherwise I hope you enjoy these posts, and do tell me what you liked reading in the comments below!

Winter sightseeing outfit
1. London Visit: Pretending To Be Italian. Or at Least a Bit Continental. (outfit post)

Aside from the vintage 70s gown that I wore to the UK Blog Awards earlier this year, this has to be just about my favourite outfit ever. I wore it on a very cold, wet winter’s day in London in 2013 and still absolutely love it now. I love the warm, rich colours, the ton of different textures and the fact that it was also warm and comfy as well as making me feel very continental. Gotta love some posh black and gold royal park gates as a background too.

What it's really like being a full time fashion blogger (who's not a super blogger)
2. What It’s REALLY Like Being a Full Time Fashion Blogger (Who’s Not a Super Blogger)

This was a very popular post at the time, and I love the fact that it dispelled the idea that all fashion bloggers lead this fabulously glamorous life jetting around the world and working on brand campaigns. My average day is very different – have a read to see just how unglamorous it tends to be…!

Learning to love my worst feature
3. Self Image | Learning to Love My Worst Feature

A very personal post from the heart, I wrote about something I’d struggled with for a long time – something that I think most people can relate to. It’s very cathartic to write these things down, and once written, you often see just how ridiculous (and pointless) your worries have been all these years. I was really proud of this post and hope it makes you stop and think too.

Woman & Home | The New Friendships | June 2014
4. Woman & Home Magazine Feature With Rachel the Hat

I’ve been lucky enough to feature in magazine shoots a few times now, but what made this Woman & Home shoot so special was that it was where I met my blogging bestie, the utterly gorgeous Rachel the Hat. Have a read about how (and why) it came about and why this lovely lady means so much to me…!

5. How To Star in Your Very Own Luxury Brand Advertising Campaign

What looks like a very glamorous Hermès ad (starring me) is nothing more than a tongue-in-cheek write-up about how to make yourself the star of any campaign you choose. I love this post because I’m so proud of the lighting and photography we achieved, as well as the “cheat” you’ll read about.

Bed Hair, a Flower Crown, White and Magenta
6. Bed Hair, a Flower Crown, White and Magenta (outfit post)

Probably my most cherished photo shoot of all time – these two shots continue to be my favourites for soft, flattering lighting (that ‘golden hour sun’ on my hair!) and the super-fun action and happy vibe of the jumping shot. As always there were a ton of outtakes, but it’s still my favourite jumping shot of all time (and I’ve done a few). See the photo shoot in full here.

7. How to Generate an Audience For Your Blog – and Increase Interaction

I’m always very proud of the blogging tips posts I write, and this one especially. It had been compiled over a very long time and was the accumulation of all the personal emails I’d written in reply to requests for advice or help. It received nearly 500 likes on Bloglovin and a ton of positive comments which I truly appreciated. I hope it continues to help more bloggers, no matter how long they’ve been blogging.

Why It's Great Being an Over 40 Fashion Blogger
8. Why It’s Great Being an Over 40 Fashion Blogger

Have I saved the best for last? This is the number one most-read post on my blog ever, and that may be because so many people Google “over 40 fashion bloggers”. It goes to that a) there is a huge demand for fashion and style for the older woman, and b) blogging really isn’t just for the young. Like the blogging tips on increasing interaction, I hope it continues to inspire more older women to start blogs, or those who already are bloggers to really OWN it!

I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I enjoyed writing them! Don’t forget to let me know what you loved in the comments 🙂

What a great collection of 8!
Your blogging tips and musings are the best on the internet (IMO)….so easy to read and they are written in such a personal style that it feels like a friend is having an informal chat with you {a brilliant writing skill}.
I love your colour palette in the 'continental' photos….your furry collar and THOSE boots (love). Knee boots are back this winter, I hope you still have these beauties.
