Easy Summer Style | Oversized Colour-Blocked Shirt and Cropped Trousers

Summer style | Oversized two-tone shirt, cropped Capri pants, tan strappy sandals
This is the first outfit this year where I’ve felt properly summery. We had a gorgeously warm (almost hot!) sunny day last Sunday, and we went up to Bristol for a family gathering at my cousin’s new house. I adore this (I’ve had my eye on it for ages, then a 20% discount voucher comes along and of course I go nuts) BUT a 1.5 hour warm car journey doesn’t do anything for a freshly-ironed cotton shirt. I got out at the other end and looked like I’d had the shirt scrunched up in my bag for the entire trip. But here it is freshly washed and ironed for a photo shoot – don’t say I don’t spoil ya!

I have to mention the gorgeous combination of white with pale blue, coral and tan: Absolutely summer-delicious. It was really only through practicality that I wore the cropped trousers (comfy and loose enough for travelling, good length for a warm day), but the blue against the coral is summer perfection in my eyes.

Finally – earrings… If you look closely you’ll see that these are mismatching . I’m really into asymmetric earrings right now – who says they have to match?!

I had a great big long story typed. Then the connection failed. Pfff.
Sorter version: tip. Wear a tank top underneath and put your shirt on the back seat until you arrive.

Oh shame, Greetje!! That's probably what I'd normally do, but we had four of us in the car so there wasn't really any room to hang anything. My husband didn't come so I hitched a ride with my sister and nieces. Plus I didn't expect it to be so warm…!

Cute outfit, love the colour blocking! I also bought a cotton shirt recently which I love but quickly realized it wrinkles if you so much as breathe on it – ah well! I must try the Barry M gelly polish, it looks fab! 🙂

Oh my goodness Kelly – I can't stand ironing!! I actually bought an upright clothes steamer so that I wouldn't have to get the ironing board out very often 😀

And thank you, so glad you liked the outfit! x
