The summer sales are on – so I’m bringing you my biannual Summer Sales Picks (with a twist)! Each January and June I research all the actual items I’ve worn on the blog that are still available online and reduced in the sales. I like to show them with my own photos so you can see what they look like styled into an outfit.
Apologies if anything sells out (I also can’t guarantee all sizes are available), but all information and prices are correct at the date of publish (E&OE).
Do you have your eye on any of the items? Hope you find some bargains – happy sale shopping!
1. Hobbs Mono Twitchill Dress WAS £129.00 NOW £99.00
I think the whole world and his dog gushed about this dress when it appeared in the Sunday Times Style magazine, and you can see why. Gingham is so on-trend this year and I always love a fit-and-flare dress – the quality is beautiful and the fabric is also woven, not printed, which makes it even more luxurious.

2. Hobbs Alderley Bag WAS £199.00 NOW £129.00-£139.00
The Hobbs bag from the same photo shoot, it’s also on sale in three other colours as well as that gorgeous yellow. I’m rather partial to the bag in coral too.

3. Barbour Godrevy Jacket in Buckthorn Brown WAS £214.95 NOW £140.16
One of my most recent posts – this fabulous waxed Barbour jacket is such a deliciously warm tobacco colour and I love the stripey lining. It’s a really good discount (35% off) as well so it’s a great investment piece: This jacket will probably last you forever.

4. Barbour Teesport Top in Red Stripe WAS £34.95 NOW £22.72
Who knew Barbour did t-shirts and tops? A red Breton stripe is perfect for summer and for just over £20 you’ve got yourself a classic (and top quality) summer tee.

5. Great Plains Garden Print Skirt WAS £50.00 NOW £25.00
Most of us dig out the florals in spring and summer, but because of the black/white background of this print you could wear this skirt in summer with bare legs and in winter with black tights. Plus: 50% off!

6. La Redoute Ovoid Tapestry Coat WAS £99.00 NOW £69.30
I really didn’t want the UK temperatures to get warmer this year because I knew it would then get too warm for this coat. I love it so much – it seems to suit everything you wear it with – so buy now and keep for the autumn.

7. La Redoute Pink Heart Motif Sweater WAS £39.00 NOW £23.40
If, like me, you occasionally like to go for something girly, then choose this pretty pink heart motif sweater. It has a lovely rib detail on the shoulders and looks great on its own or with a shirt layered underneath.

8. Boden Sylvia Dress WAS £119.00 NOW £71.40
I wore this summer dress on the Good Housekeeping photo shoot from earlier this year: It didn’t make it into the magazine but I absolutely loved it. I think by the time this post goes out I may well have bought one for myself, so watch this space.

9. Brenda MacLeod Jane Red Leather Tote Bag WAS £326.00 NOW £261.00
The ultimate red leather tote that’s a steal compared to a Birkin or a Kelly. My red one seems to go with everything and the quality of the leather and workmanship is divine. Also available in orange and tan.

10. Ann Taylor Navy/White Striped Top in Sequin WAS £76.09 NOW £25.40
I’m cheating a little with this sale pick as it isn’t the actual one I bought, but my Les Petites top was sold out online almost immediately after I got it in Paris last year. I haven’t seen another sequinned Breton top anything like mine till I saw this one, but it’s so similar I’ve shared it anyway.

11. Adidas Originals 1972 Print T-Shirt WAS £20.00 NOW £16.00
Another slight cheat: It’s still Adidas, it’s still black and white, it’s still 1972. Sportswear and graphic tees are a great wardrobe staple.

Cold weather investments
A few token cold weather items still worth investing in:
12. Wedge Welly Maneater Flex Black Wellington Boots WAS £44.99 NOW £31.49
If you want welly boots that are as stylish as Hunters but without the price tag, go for these Wedge Wellies. Mine have a crocodile texture and the wedge heel is an added bonus to give yourself a little leg-lengthening. They’re a bargain at just over 30 quid.

13. La Redoute Tailored Black Wool Overcoat WAS £109.00 NOW £65.40
I can’t remember the last time I owned a black coat: This one is smart, structured and surprisingly warm. Great quality – I’m so happy I own this black coat. Buy now, save for autumn/winter.

14. Asos Yellow Bouclé Coat WAS £75.00 NOW £45.00
Okay – I know I said Things I Wore on the Blog, but I bought this gorgeous sunshine-yellow coat only a few weeks ago and it’s killing me that it’s been too warm to wear it. As soon as there’s a chill in the air it’s going straight on as my first-choice cold weather coat.

Aww thanks so much lovely Pam!!
Great line-up. You will have a lot of grateful readers. I hope you do buy the Boden Sulvia dress. It is lovely. And don't you start complainjng about the weather being too warm for that yellow coat. You have been asking for warm weather for a long time.
Greetje
I did buy the dress, Greetje, I did! Just waiting for it to be delivered π
And hehe yes I have been desperately wanting warmer weather, but note that I said "it's killing me that it's been too warm to WEAR IT…" – that's not the same as a general "it's too warm…" – did I get out of that one??!!
yes you did
What a great idea for a blog post! Love the Twitchell Hobbs dress and the Godrevy jacket.
They're both really great pieces, Carrie, aren't they…?? Thanks hun x
