Simple Spring Style of Straw Hat, Sneakers and Stripes | La Redoute Brand Ambassador Post

Spring style | Straw fedora, Breton stripes, chinos and multi coloured sneakers
So my time as brand ambassador for La Redoute has come to an end, and my final outfit post is simple spring style – you know summer’s on its way when you start wearing straw hats! This lovely straw fedora was the perfect finishing touch to some stripes and a ribbed cardigan with grey chinos and funky La Redoute multi-coloured sneakers (I am so loving these for the summer). During my time as brand ambassador I’ve featured fedoras and florals, dungarees and distressed denim, camo and Christmas party looks – and everything in between. I’ll probably do a round up of all my La Redoute outfit posts from the last 12 months soon, so look out for that in the next few few weeks.

After my plaidathon of the autumn/winter (the plaid backpack being a small remnant of that phase), I think I’ll be moving onto a stripeathon for summer, and probably pair it with a floral or two. Ahh, the standard fashion blogger summer outfit of florals and stripes. You can’t go wrong.

Are you all over florals and stripes for summer – or are you so over it? Or maybe you were never under it it the first place… let me know!

I love the combination of sport and casual style. The hat is perfect touch for this outfit.

Thank you Scarlett – I don't think it'd be anything special without the hat… I'm a hat girl all the way! x

A great casual chic look Catherine! I still have not transitioned wearing my trainers as fashion shoes, my mind mentally just can't do it.

I definitely have two types of trainers, Alice: the ones I wear as shoes, i.e. on trend (or classic!) sports shoes, and those I simply wear for running or walking. The two shall never meet…!!! ;))

Thank you my lovely, I'll be over for TBT xx

I love the way hats look on you, and this one is again lovely.
As for flowers and stripes? Always liked them, always had them. No need to buy new.

Thanks Greetje – it makes a nice change from the white Panama I usually wear to death every summer…! 😉

Those trainers are so gorgeous, Catherine. The colours are amazing! And your earrings are just beautiful x

Aww thank you so much, Jess – sounds like you might be getting more stripes for summer to go with your florals…?!! x

Geez those sneakers are amazing, omg, and the backpack is so adorable! I'm going to use your straw hat as oficially my summer opener! ^_^ I've never been nor under nor over stripes and florals, I don't think they're either that pretty or that boring or anything, I'm more on the "meh" spectrum of tjngs 😀

Thought they'd be your kind of shoe, Keit…!! Thank you :))

(and I have to admit I can't imagine you doing stripes and florals at ALL…!!!!!!)

You LOOK great and I am definitely not over stripes or floral and excited to wear them more here in Switzerland when it's not rainy. 🙂 I need to find a hat like your's, it goes perfectly with that outfit.

I'm pretty sure La Redoute would ship to Switzerland as they're a French company, Dale – you should have a look, you might be able to get the same hat! Thank you for your lovely compliment x

The shoes are very nice! Pity they don't fit me – I'd love a pair with both yellow and plum for a nice bit of contrast. You've styled them to perfection here, the grey and white looks so fresh and sporty, a great backdrop for the shoes.

    • 5 May 2015 / 7:56 pm

Aww that's such a shame, Tine – I love the colours in these shoes, they're great for picking out and pairing with particular pieces in the same colours. Hopefully you can find some similar wide shoes by someone…? Thanks hun xoxo

You look wonderful! I love the combination. I thought that BW stripes and grey don't go together but I was wrong…need to try this. Thank you for the inspiration.

You styled those shoes with this look so well! I didn't know that type of shoe could look so good with a non-athletic-wear outfit.

    • 4 May 2015 / 9:53 pm

I often like trying a bit of contrast, Katie… I guess it worked in this instance! Thank you sweetie xoxo

I just love this look! Simple and chic breton stripes brought to life by the print in those sneaks and the plaid on the backpack. And you nailed that jumping shot!

    • 4 May 2015 / 9:45 pm

Hehe thank you Ashley – funnily enough we got it straight off (usually jumping shots create a lot of outtakes)!! xx

I love those earings from New Look. So pretty. And the hat is just gorgeous! Lx

    • 4 May 2015 / 9:30 pm

I've been wanting to get some of those earrings for ages, Lorraine – I think they're so pretty! And I'm glad you love the hat, I do too… thank you! x
