Triple Pattern Mixing | A Winter Outfit of Tartan, Plaid and Checks

Triple plaid pattern mixing: reds and greys #winter #style
So only one more sleep till Christmas, and as if you weren’t excited enough I’ve only gone and given you not two but THREE mixed patterns in one outfit. Don’t say I don’t spoil you…!

Funnily enough I didn’t actually realise there were three patterns in this outfit when I wore it (I forgot the coat was checked). In my usual haphazard way of dressing I knew I wanted to wear one particular item (the trousers), then needed something practical (the coat) and then insisted on adding a current favourite (the oversized tartan scarf). I went by colour combination only: a mixture of reds and greys this time which all worked rather nicely together. I’m not sure when I’ll stop wearing the tartan scarves, but unless we have a freaky heatwave here in the UK it won’t be any time soon…!

Have a WONDERFUL Christmas everyone – if there are any other over-excited pattern mixers out there do shout! Or just shout Happy Christmas anyway 🙂

Catherine x

P.S. Would you believe it – I just realised I also wore these trousers on Christmas Eve last year. With a tartan scarf. Again.
P.P.S. I’ll be back on Boxing Day with a brand new style of post you may just love…!
