I think the answer to the question “how do you style a two-tone midi scuba dress” is easy: Very, very simply, because the dress does all the work when it’s this fabulous. I’d had my eye on this one for a while after researching dresses to wear to a wedding for a reader who emailed me asking for advice – in my search I found this . It turned out I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and then someone on Twitter advertised a 20% discount code… Well hello, my first scuba-anything!
I wore it with my red Brenda MacLeod tote bag and woollen Asos heels from two years ago (they’re gorgeous but sadly no longer available) – I will admit I had a cropped navy sweater on for much of the day due to it being chilly, but I had to photograph the dress in all its naked glory for the blog. I think it can actually be quite a dressed down piece if you style it right: with a sweater you only see the grey marl part, and grey marl always looks casual, even more so with flats. But the fabric is so comfortable and so squidgy and the skirt is so pouffy… Asos have come up trumps. Again.
Have you bought anything in this new scuba fabric, or are you thinking about trying it? Do let me know in the comments what you’ve bought or got your eye on!
P.S. You may have missed Thursday’s post about my newsletter launch – you can sign up here! The first one will go out on 2nd September and then fortnightly after that… I’d love for us to keep in touch that way 🙂

This is utterly luscious! Those shoes are amazing too and the hairstyle – all spot on. I don't have any scuba in my life, but this is making me reconsider… Can't wait for your first newsletter by the way, will it have news of the meetup in Sept? I really want to come so let me know soon before the price of train tickets goes out of my budget!! P x
This dress looks amazing on you!
I own a scuba skirt that I love as well… such a great fabric, perfect for midi skirts!
You're right, Katha – it WAS made for midi skirts…! Thank you hun x
Hi Catherine. The favorite shoes are always wonderful. Retro Mary
I don't own anything from a scuba fabric yet, but I love the concept. This dress especially is glorious, adore the soft gray and pink combination!
Gorgeous dress Catherine. I love how the soft colours are offset by the strong red of your bag and multi print shoes. 🙂
Take care.

Aww I'm sorry Lauren…! 😉 Thank you hun x
I love this dress on you, but sadly it would do nothing for 5' and a bit rectangular-shaped me! At least you have cheered me up by saying that the first newsletter will be sent out on my birthday. I just have to hope that internet access at the flat we have booked in Toulouse will be good enough for me to read it!
Aargh, I've had this on my ASOS saved list for ages, but I think it might have to move to the shopping basket now I've seen how gorgeous it is "in real life"! Fabulous photos, as always 🙂
Wow I'd love to see it on you, Amber!!! It'd look gorgeous I bet x
This is going straight in my saved items list!
