More Ways to Style Those Grey & Red Tartan Trousers

Check trousers, red t-shirt & burgundy heels
Ahhhhh, spring. It was nice while it lasted…! These were taken in the golden hour of one of our lovely warm days last week when I dared to bare my ankles in my fierce pointed burgundy heels. (We’re back to cold wet grey days now of course.) I had the genius idea of wearing them with my grey and red tartan trousers – why hadn’t I thought of that before?! I think they were made for each other. This is quite a relaxed weekend outfit, and I know the heels don’t exactly fit that description, but when we’re not doing any walking to anywhere in particular then I like to potter around in the heels because they look, well, so pretty. I’m sure I’m not the only one!

I like to use the excuse that I’m “breaking them in” when I wear them round the house. Which is kind of true. It’s just that I’ve been breaking in some of my heels that way for years…

What about you – do you like to potter around the house in heels when you get a chance?

Fun look. But no, I never potter around on heels in my free time. Poor husband of mine… buys me lots of nice clothes and shoes which I never wear around the house. So he hardly sees me in full force. Fortunately he has the address of my blog hahaha.

Okay, there is no way I could pull off this look but you look stunning. So effortlessly cool and relaxed, but quite dressy at the same time and not frumpy at all. The heels, again, I would never think to try – but they look gorgeous on you. I think you must just colour coordinate really well. Rosemary x

As it happens, dear Catherine, my problem is that I like to wear my heels even when I DO have some walking to do…and yesterday I ended up paying the price: I tripped and broke my foot!! I am devastated that I'm not going to be able to do outfit posts for the foreseeable future; crutches and a purple cast do not a pretty fashion picture make!! At least I can live vicariously through my blogger friends…I am loving your strappy burgundy shoes and the way they add a feminine element to this slouchy look!!

Ahhh, I've been looking forward to this post! Love the red hues in this outfit. I have to practice wearing heels at home before I can wear them out (broken foot years ago = wobbly in heels now) lol. I'm a liability in anything over three inches these days x

awesome shoes, I love the tartan pants. I wear my shoes around the house all the time, drives Kent crazy.
(breaking them in, getting use to the heel, whatever excuse I can think of)

I never ever wear heels, even inside! They make me hate life so much! 😀 I do like platforms though 😀
You look fantastic! If I ever wore a pair of heels, yours would be the choice, they're spectacular! Love the high waist pants and the fancy belt, just gorgeous ^_^

Ok, that is a fabulous outfit! And while I own so, so, so many gorgeous heels, as soon as I'm home I can't wait to put on my fluffy slippers.

Love the shoes Catherine, I love pointy heels and the best way to break them in is to wear them around the house….why not…any excuse to wear them right?? 🙂

They look fabulous with your trousers, a perfect match indeed. Yes I to am a walk round the house in heels kind of girl. Life's too short to not wear what you love.
