Adidas Superstar Originals With Navy & Black

Navy sweater, loose black trousers & Adidas
Adidas Superstar Originals: classic old favourites. I’ve had mine so long I have no idea how old they actually are – I reckon I bought them in the Nineties, people. (The Nineties!! I know people that were born in the Nineties – and somehow they’re not children. How did that happen?!) Instead of jeans I thought I’d go the other way and pair them with smart stuff out of my wardrobe using that contentious-for-some combination – navy and black. Oh, who am I kidding… I just wanted to look like this. There you go – blogger confession right there. Pinterest made me do it, your honour.

But if anything, it made me wear three items of clothing I haven’t worn in ages: the Joules shirt (last seen a year ago), my old black work trousers (that I added elastic into their hems to make into harem pants and last seen here) and of course my Superstar Originals (er, never seen on the blog before?!).

I really should go digging further in my wardrobe for things I’ve not worn in ages (that I still love). Anything you’ve rediscovered recently that’s old but beloved?

You know what, Catherine?? I'm not usually a big fan of athletic-inspired looks (probably because they remind me of how UNathletic I am, haha!) but this is really cute!! And ingenious of you to re-style your old work pants this way!! My most recent closet rediscovery was also a pair of shoes…you can check them out on my "French twist" blog post!!

I love blues and black together and you demonstrate here why I love it. And the blue against your hair is divine. This type of footwear is not my norm but you do have me thinking about trying my wedge heel sneaks in a similar ensemble.

I love wedge sneakers too! Thank you Deborah x

Fun casual outfit! I moved to from Hawaii to California in the early 2000 and most of items then were not worth keeping so I don't think I have too much clothes from then. I still have some shoes and clothes at my parents' house that I kept just in case. I may have to check it out the next time I am home.

Ah yes, Adidas were always my favorites, even the tee I had from them was tops in my book! And yep, my daughter and son were both born in the '90's so I just dated myself! But wearing a classic is well… just classy and classic!

I have an Adidas tee too!! And I'm certainly an Adidas girl more than a Nike girl…! Thanks hun x

How on earth are your old Superstars so immaculate Catherine?! I recently dug my two old pairs out of the back of the shoe cupboard and they look nothing like yours after two trips through the washing machine! Decided to give them a clean up as trainers are having a bit of a moment again and thought they could come out of retirement, glad to see I'm not alone in this – Superstars have long been my favourite trainers. Loving your look here – I've been following your blog for a while now but this is my first comment.

They were pretty filthy before I put them in the washing machine, Niki – they're also quite tatty, you just can't see that in the picture! And thank you so much for commenting, it'll be nice to get to know you so please do say hello again :)) C x

That's a great look on you, Catherine! This bright blue goes so well with your hair.

Thanks Annette! The sweater doesn't look so blue in person, it's more navy – but yes it's a nice contrast with my copper hair 🙂 Thank you!

You were, Irene…?! I find it hard to believe that people born in the EIGHTIES aren't kids any more!! =sigh=
