Christmas Day Outfit | Layered Green Pleated Dress & Some Bling

Green pleated dress & black shirt
Happy Boxing Day everyone – I hope you all had a fabulously excessive and fun Christmas! I’m still in Christmas mode myself (eating everything naughty in sight and just wanting to play board games and get dressed up), but it’ll start winding down tomorrow once I want to be back in jeans and out of my heels.

Here’s what I wore on Christmas Day itself: the green pleated Louche dress I wore in the blogger style challenge a couple of weeks back (I lost by just one vote – so gutted! – but thank you so much if you voted for me) layered with a black Peter Pan collar shirt, some bling and a half updo. I also wore my fabulous new Satya Jewelry earrings for the first time which I’ve been saving for a special occasion, and I thought they were perfect for Christmas Day: set with a citrine stone which represents “radiance, happiness and awareness”… how perfect is that for this time of year?!

Enjoy the rest of the festive period (I’ll have quite a few outfits to post as I’ve got more free daytime hours and can get photos taken) – tell me what you wore on Christmas Day! Full on dressed-up in your gladrags like me, or low key and dressed down in a onesie…?

The colour is made for you, Catherine! I my next post I am also wearing a blouse under a sleeveless dress to make it more suitable for the cold season.
Christmas was quite relaxed for me and I actually didn't dress up – although not in a onesie either πŸ˜‰

You look gorgeous! I love your style.
Unfortunately my son and I have had bronchitis over Christmas so it was PJs for a week and just jeans and a jumper Christmas day, was gutted because Christmas for me has always been a chance to dress up (don't get out much with a toddler) and I love to make the effort. Oh well, always next year.

Ohh what a shame about being unwell, Hazel! So sorry to hear you didn't get dressed up – I hope you're better now. Thanks so much for dropping by x

I just discovered your blog after googling jeans for over forty! I'm not much of a fashionista especially since moving to the far north of Scotland nearly a year ago I tend to live in layers (many, many layers) & my life consists of volunteering at an animal shelter, being an animal artist and walking my 2 dogs so waterproofs and wellies are the order of the day most of the time. I do love jeans though and dread the day I'm too old to wear them! I'm glad I discovered your blog as I can live a vicarious fashionable over forty life through your gorgeous wardrobe!

Awww thank you Nic – it's nice to meet you! I'm a jeans girl too – believe me I don't get dressed up all the time (far from it)… so Christmas is my time to really go for it x

Wow…your legs look miles long in the first photo, Catherine!! Everything about this look says "festive" to me; the jewellery, the hair, and your pretty green dress (I love how you tweaked it by layering the blouse underneath!!) And I say "up the ante" for the holidays…a special day deserves a special outfit!! πŸ™‚
