This outfit happened because I needed a reason to wear my turquoise blazer. It’s a favourite fair weather piece (oh how I love the colour!) but it dawned on me I hadn’t actually worn it this year. Our seasons this year have not been the normal Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn, but rather Winter, Winter, S-U-M-M-E-R, and a sudden Autumn/Winter hybrid. So it’s been either too hot or too cold to wear it, and last weekend, in a last Hurrah to the summer, I thought it was perhaps the last time I’d wear my chunky, strappy sandals too – my fave shoe purchase of 2013.
The skinnies are coming out in full force now – they were relegated to the back of the wardrobe during the freakish heatwave we had. Plus my snakeskin bag has been used nearly every day since I got it a few weeks ago; olive is just a great neutral, it really does seem to go with anything. The overall neutrals of the outfit are lifted by that brilliant turquoise colour, so I shall be loathe to pack it away for the winter!
How about you – what are you sad about packing away for the summer? Any favourite summer pieces?
Coming up very soon on the blog: news on my day at London Fashion Week (and what I wore)! Talk about stressful – deciding what to wear to LFW when you’ve been given a last-minute invitation is the ultimate blogger dilemma π

Such a fun outfit! You've styled the blue blazer rather well!
The turquoise really pops against that neutral palette!
I love this look! It's unexpected, but not crazy. I think you balanced the brightness of that blazer perfectly. And your hair is gorgeous, as always. π
Great outfit! I love it all. But I really love your hair! : )

LOVE that blazer!! It looks amazing with those olive colored pants!!
I love that blazer and I used to shop at LaRedoute all the time but had sort of forgotten about it in the last few years. Great reminder! I have a turquoise tote bag that I love to use. The leather is super soft and supple but I seemed to have forgotten it this summer.

You had me at that Blondie tee. One of my favorite bands! This whole outfit is fantastic.
That blazer really makes the outfit pop! I love those colors on you!
I've found your blog via Annette Lady of Style and it's fun to discover your great content. Your outfit today is very colorful and I do not know if I would have the courage to wear it so. But your blazer is awesome and also the shoes. Nice Sunday

Thanks, you just inspired me for tomorrow's outfit. I have a kermit green jacket. And skinnies (so comfortable and soooo good for me). Hmmm.. don't have a T-shirt. Ah… I have a faux leather skinny tie. I am sure I can make something of this.
All thanks to you.
