Super Sleuth Pattern Mixer

Super Sleuth Pattern Mixer

Ever had one of those weekends when you “pop to the shops” first thing, expecting to be back late morning?

Mr. Summers and I did exactly that on the day these were taken, but somehow we ended getting home at 7pm. We ended up dropping in to see my niece for a cup of tea, splashing out at the rather fabulous thrift shops in the town where she lives and then having a walk along the beach.

So thank goodness I wore layers and flat shoes! The raincoat was needed really only for warmth at the beginning and end of the day… the days are a lot colder now when the sun isn’t up. I’m afraid my favourite season isn’t autumn, it’s spring: autumn means winter’s on the way, and the days will be getting shorter. But I do love walks in the woods with all the leaves on the ground and getting my layers on.

Is it the last time I’ll wear my floral chinos this year? I think so, =sniff=

Have a happy weekend, folks!

I love this look! Your coat is beautiful. I have something similar that I purchased over a year ago and have yet to wear. The sleeves are too long and I need to take it to a tailor. I may try wearing it as you have it (with the sleeves rolled up). I really like how this looks. Great post!

Excellent pattern-mixing, and I had to laugh at the title – I always feel like a sleuth in a trench coat too πŸ™‚

I also can't tell you how nice it is to find someone else who *doesn't* cite autumn as their favourite season: I much prefer spring, too!

I think nobody looks good in flat brogues. But guess what? You do! How do you pull it off?

The pattern mixing is brilliant, but it's the shoes and glasses that are driving me insane. Can you tell me the brand of the glasses? I'm shopping for frames right now. Perfect!!!

I love this outfit – my favourite so far. I love summer first, then spring, then autumn, winter is way down the list.

Your glasses, ponytail, trench coat, and title bring to mind a grown-up Nancy Drew. πŸ™‚
    Lovely as always, xoxo
