Spring Break With a Neon Edge

So Spring has decided to go on a vacation. Let’s hope it’s brief…!

I really love this soft blazer (yep, another one) with the neon edging that I wore for a quick shopping trip into town yesterday, but I was worried about being too cold. This time of year the temperature is often near freezing first thing in the morning, so you have to layer, layer, layer. It was goodbye bare legs and feet and hello again, socks and scarf and knitwear. And of course, by lunchtime I was really too hot wearing a sweater underneath – you just can’t win 🙁

Thanks to Mr Summers for more fabulous photos… I really am so proud of him for making me look half decent, and some great pictures too. The “running picture” was his idea: I insisted I would look like an idiot, but the one I’ve posted here made us laugh so I had to take back that remark and include it. How he composed it so well with his [idiot] wife running clumsily at him in her heels I’ll never know…!

Happy Easter weekend everyone; if you have extra days off – enjoy!!

That's so sweet of you, Rosemary – I'm hope you embrace the red, though, I did go more and more red each time (it didn't start out that red at all)! Thanks hun, Catherine x

This is a great idea to wear neon, especially for those of us who don't look great wearing it as a primary piece. I'll be looking for some neon edging 🙂

Your hubby takes great pics. My hubby's pics are way better than mine, but on his early days to the college, I get stuck with the luck of the tripod and self-timer 😛

    • 10 April 2012 / 10:55 am

Mmm I'm loving neon just as much in these small touches too, Lynne! And have you tried using a remote rather than self timer – still not ideal but I find it loads easier (and quicker)! Thanks for your lovely comments C x

Mr summers did a great job with the photography..I like the running shot. Great accessorizing as well and the blue hues looks fabulous on you especially against your hair color. I like the jacket too, the neon trimming looks really nice.

As much as the colours, I'm really interested in the proportions of your pieces, the way you've layered the shorter jacket over longer top, the length of the pants, etc. Looks great!

Tell Mr. Summers that he is doing great and maybe could give the other husbands pointers! This blue is amazing on you..gorgeous!

I still think you are a dare devil. With a great sense of what works and what doesn't. Although I wouldn't dare what you wear ( and I am much older) you still inspire me to think " oh that might work" .

  23. 7 April 2012 / 2:22 pm

Yes, you and Mr. Summers make a great team! You look marvelous, and the snood is so pretty, I think I'll have to order one : >

I'll have to talk to my husband about these photos – you look so good on all of them. I love your choice of colours, giving me ideas for one or two tops in my wardrobe.
