Strawberry Sunday

I actually wore this outfit last week, but simply had to save it for posting today once the sundae/Sunday pun occurred to me.

Oh, the joys of creating blog post titles (to be honest I rather like the part of thinking them up, I know some people find it tedious)!

My strawberry sweater is the only thing I own with sequins (I think…). Many times I’ve thought about buying one of those beautiful sequin jackets, but I keep wondering how often I’ll wear it, i.e. would I wear it to anywhere other than a party? Maybe I’ll get one one day, then they’ll be sooo last year. Oh well. I love big motifs on sweaters and although this is quite a “cute” one, I added the velvet blazer and maxi skirt to stop it getting into little-girl-cutesy territory… not a good look at my age.

Hope everyone’s having/had a wonderful weekend… Stay safe/dry/warm/stationary

(So windy in the south of England! My hair looks like it’s been through a hedge backwards!)

That blazer is such a pretty sapphire blue. It looks great with your coloring.
Only you could make a strawberry, sequined sweater look super chic. I love your style.

I am pinning your hairstyle to my hair board on Pinterest…need to try that look on myself one of these days.

You're a sweetheart, Adrienne!!! I'll let you and everyone else in on a secret (though I didn't mean it to be a secret): the plait isn't my hair, it's simply a false plait heairband. Sooo much easier than plaiting it yourself! I've got a couple (for different hair colours I've had) and they were from ebay. Easy!

What a terrific outfit, Catherine – The strawberry is the star and your jacket and maxi make wonderful supporting players. You look gorgeous, and your braided hair is so lovely (not a bit messy!).

I love it! Honestly, I don't know how you come up with these creative combinations. In a zillion years I'd never think this up. And probably wouldn't wear it as I don't think I'd be able to pull it off. But I think this is perfect on you – fun, fits so well, goes well with you hair and your love of the jewels! You should pride yourself on your very individual style.
