London Part 2: Checking Out Trafalgar Square

These were taken in Trafalgar Square on New Year’s Eve (yes this was the day before my previous post in Covent Garden… I don’t know why I posted them out of sequence).

We had a fabulous day in the National Gallery on Saturday. Mr Summers and I managed to cover every room (which we usually never manage when going round museums and galleries) and view all the paintings we wanted to see. We saw Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, Seurat’s Bathers at Asnières and Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus, amongst others… absolutely amazing. There’s nothing like seeing really well-known paintings in real life and up-close. I love the fact that London’s large museums and galleries are free entry – one thing the old smoke does get right!

I wore my fabulous thrifted polka dot scarf for the first time – I think it was a quid from a local charity shop – which went perfectly with my bright brogues and checked raincoat. London was unbelievably mild at the weekend so it was nice not to have to wear a heavy coat/woolly scarves/gloves, they’re such a pain to carry when you’re indoors and getting hot.

Oh and I thought I’d say: the fountains normally look prettier than this. The black barriers were up to stop drunken revellers jumping in them at New Year (which they always do). Shame – the pictures would have looked so much nicer without them 🙂

You look amazing! I couldn't wear those bold color mixes myself, but on you they are fabulous.
