Black Tie Friday

I think I’ve noticed a bit of a personal trend for “something-Friday” posts as I had Flowery Friday in September – now Black Tie Friday today.

I think it’s because our dress code at work is pretty laid back and a dress-down day wouldn’t present any challenges. So I thought I should just create my own Friday themes!

I’ve had this black Asos tie for a little while (it’s still available to buy!) – I bought it out of pure desire, without a thought about how to wear it… being made of chiffon and having unexpected beads on it when it arrived made me love it even more. I’ve not worn it before now because my white button down shirt totally disappeared off the face of the earth(?) and so I had to buy another: I’m kind of glad as this one has round Peter Pan style collars which look so much better than pointed. Worn with my favourite pink skirt (also worn here) and my yellow cardi (also worn here) I am in love, it’s one of my favourite looks I’ve worn recently.

So after Flowery Friday and Black Tie Friday, another theme could be Button Down Friday where I style the white shirt in an unexpected way… anyone have any other ideas?

I love that you combined pink and yellow – that's a tough combo to pull off, but it looks great! And that black tie is incredible – I've been looking for something like that, so thanks for the Asos link!

    Hi Sadie!

Thanks so much for your comment – I haven't had it chopped, it's a very low ponytail that's tucked underneath and fastened with those tiny hair clasp things (not sure what they're called?). So that's why you get all those straggly bits hanging down, but I kinda like them 😉

I love this bowtie, I would soo enjoy wearing things like this but just end up looking like a wannabe sexy-secretary! Boo!
And how did you do your hair? It looks like a bob but is it really a ponytail?!?! 🙂
