Sharing a Star-Studded Event Vlog

Follow Not Dressed As Lamb, over 40 style blog by email (RSS feed)

I have a new thing to share this week, though really it’s not that new at all – more, it’s been given a facelift (shame that can’t be applied to other things round here)… #joking

If you’ve wondered how best to keep up with the blog and realise that you miss some of my posts when they’re floating around on social media or creeping undetected in your feed on Bloglovin, have you considered following my blog by good old fashioned email?

I know many of you already do (hello!), but for me personally I’ve found over the last few months that it’s the very best way for me to keep up with my absolute favourite blogs, the very cream of the crop. Now I’m not saying that you’d think that about my blog, but if you do then WOWSERS, and thank you!

Sign up for posts by email by clicking on this link: http://eepurl.com/ck2uIL – you won’t get anything else from anybody else, and you can unsubscribe at any time (though of course I sincerely hope you won’t). I’ve just this week given the email a new look as I said – you can see the last one here: http://eepurl.com/ckTM91 (it now has nicer fonts and an image so you can see the crazy colours I’m wearing before you click through).

And I can’t forget to mention the amazing vlog about the star-studded Specsavers awards event I went to last week… One of the other bloggers – Amena – made this fantastic video (you’ll see me on the red green carpet and generally soaking in the atmosphere):

You’ll see I’m wearing my vintage poppies dress – so expect an outfit post with that soon (next week hopefully). And below is the photobooth GIF that Amena, Amy and I appeared in with a bunch of celebrities on Specsavers’ Instagram account:

I have to mention how lovely Kimberly Wyatt (former Pussycat Doll) was – I shared a lift with her in the hotel when I needed to pop back up to my room for a spare camera battery. She couldn’t have been any nicer.

So that was last week, this week I’ve been back home to a mountain of laundry and wishing I didn’t have to put the heating on. It’s 100% glamour all the way round here 😉

Not at all related to the links I shared, but my highlight of the week was laying 4 vintage lab coats on the ground in the garden and having fun with the kids splattering them with red ink to turn them into Zombie Doctor or Mad Scientist costumes for Halloween. We just had loads of fun!
Ps. Kimberly was always my favourite Pussycat doll – she was so lovely on the old UK So You Think You Can Dance!

OMG I love making costumes like that too, Helen (messy ones are the best kind)!!!

Well only very, very, VERY occasionally, Sheela…!!

I know Bloglovin isn't the best because blogs get lost in a feed if you follow a lot of blogs like I do, but I really hate the "Follow by Email" option because then I'll get 100's of emails in my inbox everyday. I wish Bloglovin would just improve their feed notices.

I don't get hundreds of emails from bloggers, Amy – I only follow about 10 by email and they post anything from 1-5 posts a week. Everyone's different, I just suggested it as I wish I'd started following my top, top favourite bloggers that way ages ago…!! But agreed, Bloglovin isn't for notices – it's just a way of keeping track of those you follow x

I watched the vlog. What an excellent event! Looks like it was so much fun. And thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my sketches, Catherine. This one was from 2015 but that doesn't make it any less fresh in my imagination. I happened upon a Louboutin event this week, which I am posting about.

I'm happy for everyone to link up anything they like, Melanie!! Loving the sketches…! x

Loved the vlog! Looks like such a great event. And, all of you look amazing in the glasses. I need a new pair, so I am totally inspired! Highlights this week have been getting my blogging mojo back and finishing week 3 of Invisalign! Only 77 left to go! Hahah x

Thanks Kat – you're a trooper for going ahead with Invisalign… it sounds like a long time but hopefully it'll fly by x
