My Favourite Fun and Fabulous Links is a monthly post of things I’ve seen, watched and liked on the internet that I’m sure you’ll love too. This month I’m sharing a whole bunch of creative, heroic, talented, passionate and downright hilarious women. There are fundraisers, musical geniuses, great journalists, make up wizards – and more.
The true spirit of fun and fabulous, in other words.

Knickers Model’s Own – A Year of Frugal Fashion is the book written by Caroline Jones about the 365 outfits she wore every day in 2015 bought only from Cancer Research UK shops. Read about why she did this wonderful thing and how much money she’s raised for the charity (and why not buy the book while you’re there?)
The experience of a 45-year-old woman getting Botox for the very first time is a fascinating read… What’s your take on it?
Hayley very bravely calls out all the “fakery” on Instagram: Our Instagram culture is making us all feel inadequate – Reality vs filtered reality.
I wish I loved anything as much as she loves wiggles: Is this the very definition of excitable?!
It may be a couple of years old but I could watch Lisa Eldridge doing Sophie Dahl’s make-up (a lavender smokey eye) over and over again.
Yet another article about things women shouldn’t be wearing after 40 (appalling journalism, The Telegraph, and I hate sending traffic your way), but as an antidote to that…
… 24 things women over 30 SHOULD wear. (Be warned: You may almost pee your pants laughing at this. Especially if you’re over 30 because, you know, “you’re old” π
And more hilarity: “The one where Greetje tried to climb a tree” will surely go down in blogging history.
This is probably the GREATEST blog post I have ever read, on any subject, ever. With quotes (about blogging) like “Nobody is reading your shit” and “There’s no way in hell you are actually that happy” you know you simply have to read it.
Finally: If you’re sick and tired of seeing the ‘same old same old’ on the music scene, check out Christine and the Queens… Not like anything you’ve seen or heard before. God I ADORE this awkwardly stylish, creative genius of a (French) woman.

The Dear Mommy Blogger post totally grabs the reader (aka: me), but the Instagram post reaches out to just about everyone. When an IG account makes me dissatisfied with my wonderfully blessed life, I unfollow. I have stopped following people on IG when their feed became so themed that it bored me. I have to admit that your blog posts were bland to me for a while, so much shopping for new clothes that I couldn't relate to, but you and your style managed to sparkle through and keep me coming back. I don't spend as much time on blogs as I used to, but when I do I always check to see what you've been up to. Your stripe top with olive floral wide leg pants made me want to go raid my closet for a look-a-like.

Oh, and I have now listened to Christine and the Queens over and over and over, thanks for sharing some fun music!
Great reads, for sure, Catherine! Who the heck is this person writing for The Telegraph? How ridiculous!

Ooh off to check out your always super recommendations x
MUAH thanks Vicki x
Loved Dear Mommy Blogger though I've seen it completely ripped apart in some circles. Be authentic. Be real. Write to make your little piece of the world better — and nothing says that better than Greetje climbing the tree! (yes, that's an exclamation point)

I think when a post is that controversial it's inevitable that it'll be a love-it-or-hate-it post, Julia…! But I'm glad bloggers DO write such heartfelt posts now and then, because if we were all vanilla it'd get boring, wouldn't it π
So glad you liked the links, Greetje's tree-climbing post is legend!!
I completely agree with Josi Denise "Dear Mommy Blogger" haha. That was fun to read and so true.
Thank you for including me in your list.
Greetje
My pleasure, Greetje – wasn't that Dear Mommy Blogger post good. Occasionally it's great to read really honest "neck on the line" posts like that…!
Loved all these, esp all of us wearing whatever the "f#*k we want. xox
