Classic White Tee and Asymmetric Midi Skirt #iwillwearwhatilike

Ladylike Spring/Summer look: Plain white tee, pastel grey assymetric hem midi skirt, grey strappy heels, headscarf | Not Dressed As Lamb

No theme for this week’s #iwillwearwhatilike – I’ll be hosting the 30-40+ Blogger Meet in London when this post goes live so feel free to add anything and everything you’ve been wearing,

old posts or new (no link ups or giveaways though please, the linky is called #iwillwearwhatilike, after all)!

This was a simple but (I thought) elegant outfit worn on one of the warmer days we had recently. I wore the asymmetric midi skirt once before on the blog – in the autumn with boots and a peach jacket – and thought it was about time it was dug out and styled in another way. Luckily this skirt isn’t too office-like thanks to the hem line, though it’s not a style I’d recommend on a windy day… Cue much holding down of that wrap front!

I wanted to keep the overall look light and fresh, so instead of a blouse (which would have made it look too formal), I went with a classic white tee, this one being from white t-shirt specialists Yunion T. It’s my second t-shirt from this start-up brand and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed if you want a high quality white tee that keeps its shape and isn’t thin. (Someone I know on Twitter bought one on my recommendation and she couldn’t praise it highly enough either.) They sell four classic styles of white t-shirt and that’s it, so of course they’re bound to have perfected this wardrobe essential.

SHOP THE LOOK:

As I can’t help myself where colour is concerned, I of course had to add some colour – a ready-twisted headscarf from Zara, coloured mirrored sunglasses and bold Wolf & Moon earrings did all that for me. Easy and comfortable, but ladylike and a step up from jeans.

So do add your outfits to this week’s link up (scroll down for details) – you may be featured next week if I love what you’re wearing (please don’t forget to add a link back to Not Dressed As Lamb in your post)!

WHAT LOOKS HAVE YOU BEEN LOVING LATELY? AND HAVE YOU FOUND THE PERFECT CLASSIC WHITE TEE (OR WILL YOU TRY YUNION T?) TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS OR TWEET ME @NOTLAMB!

#iwillwearwhatilike | Not Dressed As Lamb
Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

RELATED  Second Hand September: Charity Shops and Shopping Your Own Wardrobe

The link up goes live every Monday at 3pm UK time and will stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

An InLinkz Link-up

PLEASE NOTE
This is for linking up what you’ve been wearing (or would like to wear) only. I like to keep it all looking tidy because I’m a bit of a neat-freak, so non-outfit links will be removed – it’s only fair to others linking up!

NEXT WEEK:

5. Please do not link up anything other than outfits, shoes, accessories or make-up  non-outfit links will be removed. This link up is for linking up what you’ve been wearing (or would like to wear) only

I will certainly check out the white t-shirts… I am reading the Marie Kondo book about decluttering and I have a feeling I'm going to be chucking a whole load of not-so-white t's very soon! Great to see the link with Style Nudge and the Sydney shopper both very cool!

I love this outfit. So feminine, so elegant. Love the scarf with it too. Great styling.
    Have I found a perfect white T for myself? No… T-shirts and I have a complicated relationship.

    Three things Catherine:

    1. I need a white tee.
    2. That skirt is fabulous.
    3. And I also can't let an outfit go without adding a little bit of color.

Thanks for the #iwillwearwhatilike link up AND hashtag. It's a good one!!

A beautiful outfit Catherine, the skirt is so beautiful and elegant. I love the chic simplicity of the outfit and colourful scarf that sets it all off. Stunning! Enjoy your blogger meet, I hope it goes well 🙂

    Take care,

Whilst this may be the least rainbow outfit I've seen on you yet, Catherine, it isn't at all bland nor muted. In fact, it's one of those looks which coaxes another look, and yet another look. And another 🙂

And I forgot to add what a fantastic job you did yesterday. Such a delight to meet you finally as well as many bloggers I follow and admire plus some new ones too!

You look gorgeous in this outfit. Love the cut of the skirt, the simple t, and the headband. What looks have I been loving lately? Anything with a scarf…they help keep me warm till the weather warms up for good!

I love your monochromatic look Kathrine and I love that you usually throw in a surprise twist to make the whole look you. The scarf makes it! Thank you for hosting.

This whole ensemble has a real 50's vibe Catherine. The headscarf and sunglasses are so glamorous! The skirt is very pretty and unusual too, I really like it. Loved your IG photo from the Bloggers party. Oh, how I wish work hadn't taken priority over this. Am hoping for an autumn meet up next year when I'm not so busy. You all looked as if you were having such fun x

Oooh…I wish I was there at the Blogger Meet with you, dearest Catherine; I'm so looking forward to hearing how it all went!! 😀 And this t-shirt and wrap skirt combination is absolutely lovely; the muted colour palette isn't normally a "go-to" for you, I know…but by adding that floral headband and those mirrored sunnies, you've definitely made the look your own!! XOXO
