It’s finally cold here in the UK!! I don’t know why I’m saying that, I’m so not a cold weather person. I think I’ve just been looking at my winter coats and thinking how they’ve been neglected so far this winter due to the mild temperatures.
But warmer days are no more! Proper winter (UK style) is upon us. Wet, windy and grey. No bright sunny days with blue skies and snow everywhere for us, oh noooo.
We actually took these photos a few weeks ago – I was saving the snakeskin boots for this week’s #iwillwearwhatilike animal print theme, and it was one of the few days that there was a chill in the air. You may also be surprised to see me wearing such high boots – although I’d slipped my disc at this point, I hadn’t yet gone to the doctor so was hobbling a bit before the severe pain set in. Don’t worry, we didn’t do much walking around that day…!
I think I can say snakeskin is my new favourite animal print – though my allegiance to leopard is still strong, I can feel a snakeskin wallet or tote coming on. Watch out, bank balance.
I THINK I CAN SAY SNAKESKIN IS MY NEW FAVOURITE ANIMAL PRINT – THOUGH MY ALLEGIANCE TO LEOPARD IS STILL STRONG, I CAN FEEL A SNAKESKIN WALLET OR TOTE COMING ON. WATCH OUT, BANK BALANCE.
The yellow coat was one I picked up in the Asos winter sale at the beginning of 2015 – it was reduced massively and I didn’t get to wear it as spring had already set in so it was much too warm for it. As you can probably imagine I was desperate to wear it: Have you ever seen a more happy colour? It looks so lush with lilac – be quick if you want the lilac beanie (almost sold out) but Asos still have some stock of the scarf (and it’s on sale).
What’s your favourite animal print – and what do you like pairing it with? Tell me in the comments or tweet me

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!
So link up all your fabulous outfits (or shoes, accessories, make-up, etc.) every Monday at 3pm UK time – it’ll stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

*Obviously to honour the passing of one of music (and fashion’s) greatest. The connection only has to be loose – go for his many reincarnations such as Mod, Hippie, Glam Rock (Glam OR Rock if you like), Soul, New Romantic – to see some of his different styles I’ve created a Pinterest board is great for inspiration. It was written only five days ago… RIP David.
All I ask of you linking up is that you:
1. Please follow your host Not Dressed As Lamb (via Bloglovin or Instagram)
2. Link up your outfits (blog or Instagram posts) that show how you choose to wear what you like – as many as you like!
3. Please remember this is only for posts of what you’ve been wearing, not links to giveaways or anything else
4. Include a link back to this post if you’re linking from a blog post, or add my button (below)
5. Post your outfit on Instagram (if you use it) with the hashtag #iwillwearwhatilike – Monday’s the day to join in the IG fun
6. Visit some of the other links and share the love!
Copy and paste this HTML code into your blog post or side bar:
Do share the love and visit as many links as you can (you never know what other lovely like-minded ladies you might meet) – the original Instagram campaign forged some wonderful new relationships so don’t miss out!

Nice)
Lilac is a beautiful color on you! The yellow coat is a winner too. 🙂
Aww that's so nice of you, thanks Natalia xx
Catherine, You have done it again!
Taken a colour I really dislike and made me think…."Hmmmmm….maybe??????"
Lilac is one of my "You can't make me!" colours, and here it is (looking gorgeous) with a bright yellow coat (which I feel I need) and your red hair.
The darker tones on your bottom half (plus the fab boots) stop it going too "ice cream parlour"-ish.
I like it!!
In fact….I like it Very much!!
You are such a bad influence on me (my credit card is groaning) :oD

I have to say that leopard is my favorite animal print and I'll pair it with just about anything. But those boots definitely rock…I might have to pick up some snakeskin boots! Love the yellow paired with lavender; unexpected and beautiful.

It was a pleasure to feature you, Anna – the bling and that dress looked amaaaaazing! Thank you thank you xx
This is fun. I will get stuck in here. Animal print yoohoo…. I am coming.

Greetje
I don't think you do too badly with your use of colour, Greetje… You're just as much of an expert as you say I am!! Thank you sweetie MUAH x
Great blingy women from last week!
I love your snakeskin boots and your sproingy yellow coat. This is a great winter pick-me-up outfit. I realized after I linked-up that my IG photo shows my blouse better, a bright aqua leopard print. Anyway, it's under my coat in this blog shot. Heh.
Ooh I like the sound of bright aqua leopard, Melanie…!! Thank you my lovely, glad to have you link up as always x
What a great outfit! I love the colors you put together and the booties are so sharp! I have been sending in my vote for you! Peace! Cheryl
Cheryl I'm so thankful for your support! You're a star!! x
Well done on your nomination, I will vote for you! I do hope your injury heals soon, those boots need wearing again soon, they're fab xx
I'm afraid I'm not nominated yet, Porcelina – this is the vote to GET me nominated/shortlisted! But thank you for voting, the next stage is the judging panel…!!
And thank you re. the injury – I am recovering, slowly but surely :))
so pretty and Easter "y". Love these colours together. I will have to link up again tomorrow with my leopard boots. I have a Thursday Fashion Link up, would love to have you pop over. http://www.alabouroflife.com/2016/01/a-plethora-of-plaids-when-you-fashion.html
I guess it is quite Eastery, Linda – but then the deep red/purple keeps it winter-fresh!! Thanks sweetie, I'll pop over (tweet me a reminder)! x
Those are pretty damn divine snakeskin boots there,Catherine! I just so happened to buy a pair myself last week but with a western style heel as those would be waaaay to high for me! I've always loved leopard but like you, I'm getting more into snakeskin little by little – belt, bag, shoes etc…
Love the combo of yellow with all the other colours.
Thanks for hosting.

Snakeskin is slowly being seen more and more, isn't it Jacqueline…?! Thank you sweetie! x
I have got the same Boots, Catherine and linked them up. Snakeprints are fabulous, aren't they?
Exactly same weather condition over here and I might have to wear my warm boots and downcoat this weekend… oh no…!
Thank you for featuring my sequined look!!
xoxo
Annette | Lady of Style
I think you were the inspiration to finally get some, Annette – though are they exactly the same ones? Mine are from Mango, I also ordered some from Zalando (Aldo ones) but I didn't like them as much so I sent them back…!
Thanks for linking up, it was my pleasure to feature your lovely sequins from last week! x
Such a joy to joing you, dear friend

Sacramento thank you, and for linking up my lovely! x
Hmmm…yellow & lilac. What an unexpected color combo and so wonderful!!! Thanks for the inspiration! jodie
http://www.jtouchofstyle.com
ps…have always been a fan of snakeskin….those boots are fabulous! If they are feeling neglected, i'll take them for a couple walks!!
pps…are you feeling any better?
Aww Jodie thanks so much, yes they do look like they need to be taken out into the fresh air, poor things keep looking me…!! And thank you for asmking about the back/leg – recovery is finally speeding up. Pain is a lot less (rather than constant), can walk a lot better. Can't WAIT to just go for a short walk round the block, it'll feel like a massive achievement :))
Oh i bow down to thee queen of colour mixing. What a fabulous combo here.. Yellow and lilac.. genius! And those booties are on point as those youngsters say 😉 Such a fabulous look, and think how much you're going to enjoy those boots once your back in heels. Something to look forward to at least 😀 Hope you're not in too much pain this week lovely and that you're slowly but surely recovering x x x
Thank you Rachel sweetie – the back/leg is a lot, lot better! Still having to be very careful, but at least I can walk like a normal person, albeit very gently. Funnily enough, walking pigeon-toed seems to ease the pain a little for some reason?!!!!!
Such fun looks! I don't have a favorite animal print…i like them all equally.
Thanks Amy!! x
I love the lilac with the yellow! And I've been wanting these boots forever…
Thanks Andrea – it's very frustrating not being able to wear them right now! x
It's a delicious colour combo! Hang in there, spring is just around the corner. Or that's what I keep telling myself…
Oh gosh it had better be, Tiina – January and February do drag!! Thank you sweetie x
I love the mix of colours you've got going on there! I'm equally obsessed with leopard print and snakeskin…I'm quite partial to a bit of zebra print too! Thanks for hosting the linkup, I hope your back is soon as good as new xxx
Emma
style-splash.com
Thanks so much Emma – the back is much, much better… Nowhere near 100%, but recovery is speeding up. And re. zebra: I don't have anything zebra I don't think, I reckon I'm missing out!! x
These snakeskin-patterned boots are DELICIOUS, dearest Catherine!! I imagine that you must be sooo anxious to take them out-and-about again; but at least that cheery yellow coat (and your lilac accessories!) don't need to wait until your recovery before you can wear them again…especially if winter weather has finally arrived in the UK!! We had (relatively) cold temperatures in Vancouver last week; but I'm relieved to report that we're back above the freezing point…for now!! XOXO
http://www.StyleIsMyPudding.blogspot.com
Hehe yes they're currently waiting patiently on the stairs near the front door, ready to leap outside as soon as I can wear heels again!! That said, a mid heel is more comfortable than flats right now. The back/leg is soooo much better, no stick needed, just need to take it easy still. Thank you my lovely, and stay warm!!! xx
Love the yellow coat, it's one of my favorite colors! 🙂
I HAD to have it when I saw it, Laurie – and it was seriously reduced!! It was fate :))
I love the boots!!
Jaymie
