Faux Fur, Checks and Leather + the #iwillwearwhatilike Link Up

Faux fur collar, biker jacket
Welcome to the #iwillwearwhatilike link up: This week is all about faux fur! It’s the perfect texture to ‘winterise’ (my word) any outfit. This faux fur collar (similar) and faux fur bag are two of the accessories I always look forward to wearing once I’ve finally accepted that summer is over. It always takes me a while, though as I still haven’t yet put away my bikinis and shorts for the winter I may still be in denial…!

THIS FAUX FUR COLLAR AND FAUX FUR BAG ARE TWO OF THE ACCESSORIES I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO WEARING ONCE I’VE FINALLY ACCEPTED THAT SUMMER IS OVER.

Our temperatures in the UK are a little up and down at the moment, so we’re having the occasional mild day that allows for bare ankles still. I’ve mentioned in the past that I tend to be able to cope with bare ankles for much longer than I can cope without gloves, or a scarf. A black biker jacket and loose check trousers with the faux fur make a great weekend shopping outfit.

As always the theme for the link up is optional (scroll down for all the details) – though I’m looking forward to seeing some great faux fur this week, I have my fingers crossed for some colourful versions!

Do you hit the faux fur when the temperatures drop? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @notlamb!

#iwillwearwhatilike link up | Not Dressed As Lamb

Thank you for joining the #iwillwearwhatilike link up! This started as a campaign on Instagram in August 2015 where women over 30 wore everything on a journalist’s list of “inappropriate” items for 30+ women (including leopard print, short dresses and oversized sunglasses. Yes, really). It was so popular that I decided to carry it on weekly where women of all ages link up their fabulous style, never mind what anyone tells them not to wear!

So link up all your fabulous outfits (or shoes, accessories, make-up, etc.) every Monday at 3pm UK time – it’ll stay open for a week. Whilst the original article was of course aimed at the 30+, you can be ANY age to link up. The only criteria is that you’re wearing whatever you damn well like!

I definitely look forward to wearing faux fur in winter, in fact last year I went a bit mad and bought quite a few scarves and collars in various colours! A bit of faux fur with a leather jacket is purrfect!

Here I am again, dearest Catherine!! I feel a little like I'm "taking advantage" by linking up twice in the same week…but since I'm wearing faux-fur on my blog today (and COLOURFUL faux-fur at that!) hopefully you won't mind!! 🙂 P.S. If that furry bag of yours ever needs a new home…I've got dibs, okay?! ;D

I am a total fur convert, sorry I'm not linking with fur, just way too warm. Love the bag, and your hair looks fantastic.
    Thanks for hosting

I'm HERE!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me in on this super fun link-up. LOVE the concept! I posted an older look cause i wanted to play along 😉
It hasn't been that cold here in NY yet, but fur collars are ALWAYS a go-to!
    Talk to you soon love,

Oooh Catherine you look super cute, I love this fur over the biker with your gorgeous hair colour! I'm still on the hunt for THE ONE fur stole/collar that will work with all my jackets. There are just so many variations of it this year I'm undecided on whether to get a bright colour or go for the realistic tonal browns like yours. Oh well it's fun looking 😉 xxx

I do love a good fur collar. I have one oversized one that I wear often in the winter months. I tried on a massive Russian style faux fur tall hat yesterday at Anthro and almost bought it.

    Those pants are wonderfully retro.

Dear Catherine! Wooohooo! I'm so happy you liked my sporty look up there. I submitted so many! *gasp* The odds were in my favor. But! Guess what?! I am off the crutch, and I've been wearing stylish flats this week. That calls for another wooohoooo!

Catherine, while I love this look of fur collared moto with plaid and even a fur bag. There's something else I like even more: first it was your smile in pic #2, then it was in pic #4, and then in pic #7. Your smile is so pretty in these shots! A smile is our best accessory no?!

Thanks again for choosing my sporty look. I got quite good at it if I do say so myself! Haha.

    Big hug! Annie

Our weather is all over the place too…it's making it super challenging to decide how to dress. I'm totally loving those pants, and the leather jacket is the cherry on top!

Oh yes indeed, I grab my faux fur vests, and collars as soon as the weather changes. I totally agree its a perfect and fun way to layer just the right amount of extra heat, as well as fun to your outfit. What a great look you put together. And my first faux fur collar I actually purchased in England two years ago.

Such snazzy trousers! I am a bit of a faux fur fiend, my wardrobe is filled with it. Worn with a bit of red lippy, it gives instant vintage glamour. Thanks for hosting, I hope you have a good week xx

Great picks from last week. I especially love Sheela's "runners." Heh. Your faux fur is so fun and a great winterizer. I'm glad my style fit your prompt this week, although I know that it's not required. Faux fur, hurrah!

  16. 7 December 2015 / 5:38 pm

What a great Outfit! I'm not a fan of faux fur (or faux anything), but I love the leather jacket and especially those checked trousers!

I love, love, love your new hair, ahhhhhhh so fabulous. It makes you younger, thinner, taller, richer, hahhahha. Just GORGEOUS

I really like this look! Great jacket & pants, and the faux fur collar adds interest & I'm sure much needed warmth! I'm leaving for Germany in a few days, and I'm not looking forward to the cold weather…

I don't own any faux fur, but I've been thinking of getting a faux fur collar for a while now.

  20. 7 December 2015 / 3:28 pm

A "tough" moto jacket with a soft, furry collar?? Talk about the best of both worlds, dearest Catherine!! And that fluffy white bag is the cutest thing ever…I know it would make ME feel a little bit better about dressing for wintery weather, too!! P.S. I am absolutely IN LOVE with the rose-gold colour of your hair right now!! XOXO

Doing a wee woop of joy as I can link a themed outfit – and two no less showcasing how my faux fur gilet can be dressy and casual!
Great jacket there which is perfectly tailed with the black slip ons – although how you manage with bare ankles is beyond me! And those check trousers are really fun – the kind you could wear each season.
Thanks for hosting and I hope you're keeping dry and safe where you are and haven't been affected my Storm Desmond!

yay for faux fur. I am now a huge convert to loving the faux fur trend.. i used to despise it, but over the past few years i've gone from loathe to love! I've just linked up today's post of me wearing my beloved faux fur gilet..man oh man do i love that thing!
But enough about me on to your gorgeous self. I heart this jacket big time. I lvoe it with the checked trousers and you've totally inspired me to pair my check trousers and biker jacket, which is a pairing i hadn't previously thought of! Also, can i just say.. your nails!! Oh em gee.. how do you always have the most perfect nails?! I look at them with little heart eye emojis as they are just so damn perfect all the time.
Ok enough rambling from me, wishing you the most wonderful week and thank you mrs hostess with the mostess. xxx
