How to Wear Pastels in Autumn | Peach, Pink, Grey and Tan

Peach tailored jacket, grey midi skirt, tan boots
Pastels aren’t go-to colours for very many people in the autumn, but I have to admit I like the soft tones of peach, blush pink and grey together at any time of year. What really pulls them together, however, is the tan leather – a colour that luckily always coordinates with my hair. Regular readers will know these boots very well as I’ve been wearing them throughout all the years that I’ve been blogging… To see lots of ways of styling them click here for an 8 Ways to Wear tan boots post!

You may have seen on Instagram that I’m utterly obsessed with the colour peach at the moment, so when this peach jacket from Topshop went on sale at (almost) half price I couldn’t ‘Add to Basket’ fast enough. The three other key pieces of this outfit – fluffy blush pink sweater, spiky necklace and wrap skirt – were all bought ages and ages ago (up to a year ago) but they just haven’t featured on the blog yet. Sadly they’re all long since sold out but I am loving this grey faux leather wrap skirt from Asos, and being leather it might just behave slightly better in windy conditions than my skirt did…!

I’M UTTERLY OBSESSED WITH THE COLOUR PEACH AT THE MOMENT, SO WHEN THIS PEACH JACKET FROM TOPSHOP WENT ON SALE AT (ALMOST) HALF PRICE I COULDN’T ‘ADD TO BASKET’ FAST ENOUGH.

I’m hoping you like the very last photo as you may well be seeing it a lot more (and I mean a LOT more) in the future: I won’t say too much but Not Dressed As Lamb may be looking a little different very soon – don’t tell me I didn’t warn you how much I’m obsessed with peach (and lilac)…!

Are you a fan of the colour peach? I can imagine it’s a bit of a love-it-or-hate-it colour – let me know in the comments or tweet me @notlamb if it’s easier!

Isn't that funny when you get a thing for a certain color? It's burgundy with me right now. I'm wearing all shades of it and finding it hard to stop!

I absolutely love this outfit. Peach is gorgeous on you and those boots will always be my favorite!

Actually peach and grey reminds me of 1980s interiors, Laurie! Thank you sweetie x

When you recently posted that your new hair colour was rose gold I must admit I felt a bit weak with envy. My passion for this colour is no secret; your hair does looks gorgeous, and now adding peach is a match made in heaven. The threading in of grey and tan make it a great story. I like the asymetrical cut of the skirt too.

Thank you Anna so much! I have to admit I think these colours are so dreamy together – don't they make such a nice change for autumn…?! xx

Well until now I wouldn't have put fall and pastels together but you made them so lovely. And you were able to bring the look into an Autumn feel by simply adding those knee high boots and that incredible fluffy sweater (I want, I want). Great Look! The last photo is fantastic so I won't mind seeing it ALOT!

    • 16 November 2015 / 9:53 am

Thank you Trina…! The sweater is so lovely, you find people like hugging you when you wear something like this – I've had "you feel like a teddy bear" several times! 😉

I love this color pairing, although peach near my face does me no favors – on you it's gorgeous. See you later at Vis Monday, xox

    Peach? Hmmmm…good question!
I had to think about that. Does loving the look of it on other people mean I like it? Or not?
I had to go through my wardrobe searching for something in this colour. I have nothing. Maybe I don't like it?
Maybe I need to give it a try!?
I love the look of the grey skirt with your tan boots (great to see them again, Duo used to be a great place to buy boots for me…I have not tried Ted & Muffy yet though).
The grey with the peach looks fresh and modern…I love the peep of grey tights.
The tan and nude accessories really make the whole look work for autumn.
A great look, that has made me think I should be opening my mind to pastels.
I seem to avoid them, not sure why… oh dear, I feel more shopping coming on!
You are a bad influence :oP

Thanks Samantha! You say Duo "used to be" a great place… Have they closed down? And I've not heard of Ted & Muffy(?) – I'll look them up!

And I'm so sorry I keep making you "need" to buy more stuff: Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging, haha 😉 x

    • 16 November 2015 / 6:23 pm

I know! I find myself constantly searching for things….clothes and makeup. It is certainly not a money making exercise!! but brilliant fun :oD
Duo is no longer. Ted and Muffy is the new name…much sleeker website and more expensive. Some stunning OTK boots. X

    • 21 November 2015 / 11:11 pm

Oh I didn't know about Duo closing?!!!! And they're MORE expensive, you say… How expensive can they get?!!!!! Earlier this year I was eyeing up a pair of Duo OTK boots and they were well over £200!

  10. 14 November 2015 / 8:20 pm

    I love the last photo!

And peach is a great color! Love your boots!

  11. 14 November 2015 / 4:01 pm

Peach has always been my favorite color. It looks great with my red hair and fair skin. Thanks for the idea pairing it with tan boots.

    • 16 November 2015 / 9:49 am

Thanks Claudia – I would never have thought it'd go with red hair, but you're right – it really does! x
