A Greek-Style Embroidered Top and Shorts | Santorini Sunset Golden Hour

Summer holiday outfit | Embroidered top, shorts, suede cuff sandals

This was quite possibly the dreamiest photo shoot I’ve ever done.

Golden hours are always special but combine one with stunning white houses and views (of Greek islands and a sunset) that are just to-die-for and you’ve got yourself something quite magical. Santorini is one of those places that doesn’t just live up to expectations, it surpasses it.

We’ve done our best to capture it with the gorgeous warm glow of these photographs, and if I were able to bottle the feeling of sitting on those steps watching the sun go down I would. I’d also take the light home and use it on every photo shoot, ever. It couldn’t have been more flattering…!

As the evenings were so warm in Santorini, I was still wearing the shorts and top I’d had on during the day for the daily sunset-watching ritual. The Greek-style embroidered top was one of those “I HAVE to have that for my holiday!” sale purchases before we left (Dorothy Perkins, I picked up some brilliant things in their sale), and the shorts are years old but rarely get worn in UK summers. A few of my much-worn extras finish off the outfit perfectly: Mirrored aviators (I’d love to get the proper Ray-Ban originals), a classic straw hat and those suede cuffed sandals again.

I’ll be so sad to finally put away my summer clothes (this weekend, boo), but I have to admit to myself it’s autumn at some point I guess πŸ˜‰

What was YOUR highlight of the summer? I’ll never forget watching these sunsets every night for two weeks, so next summer has a lot to live up to! Do share in the comments!

Santorini is an incredible place, definitely one of my favourite! I remember going down the cliff on a donkey ride. Love your bracelets and those shoes are gorgeous πŸ™‚

Thank you Lindsay! We didn't go on a donkey, they were going a bit too fast and a bit too near the edge of the cliff for my liking…!!

WOW! What an absolutely stunning outfit in an absolutely stunning place!

I hope your trip has been positively incredible Catherine!

You couldn't have picked a better outfit to wear at a better time of day than this. Oh so dream-like! The embroidery is delicate and perfect for Greece.
Highlight of the summer – meeting up with Tall Brown Fox's family for their annual weekend gathering held this year in the South of France. 20 of us, all ages, having fun. It was special as I wasn't able to go the previous year.
And of course, starting my blog in June, which seems an age ago now!

You wait, Jacqueline – your blog will be a year old, then two, then three… etc. etc. before you know it! Thank you hun x

Oh the GLOW!! Catherine, these pics are stunning! My favorite is the sunset pic for sure. Well and maybe the sunset pic of you looking at the sunset. Hmm, summer seems so very long ago. Starting work (the school year) in August makes summer seem like ages and ages ago. So no fond memory but just wonderful days in July out at my cabin.

Catherine, I'm like you: I want to get a pair of the original Ray-bans. I seem to have many knock-offs but never the real deal. And, I also transitioned my wardrobes this weekend. Even though our temps are still up there, I still like to have seasonal wardrobes. The coats and sweaters won't come out for a few more months though.

Catherine, thanks for linking up to my Style Story! I'll be checking back in early tomorrow morning for your link up. ;D

    The light, oh the light!!
Wow…even my blue skin would glow in that!
Your photographs have a dream like quality to them…no wonder you look so serene.
I have to admit that it is odd looking at such obviously SUMMER photographs whist wearing an Aran cardigan, it is just pure envy talking though….and then I remember that you are probably also wrapped up cosy and warm planning your next (autumnal) posts.
In answer to your "highlight of the summer" question.
I am going to sound totally cheesy (and I am cringing a little bit) but It is honestly the starting of my blog.
What a fantastic time I am having…and yours was my inspiration to get started.
    So thank you for that!
I am looking forward to your more-autumnal posts, always a great inspiration.
