Blogging Heroes | Nominate Your Favourite Blogger!

Blogging heroes: Nominate your favourite blogger
I thought I’d do something a bit different today. I want to write a post in my Bloggers You Should Know series about inspirational bloggers, but rather than write it from my point of view I thought I’d hand it over to my readers and ask you who I should include. I’ll then write the post based on your suggestions and nominations for the most inspiring bloggers – how’s that for a great way for us both to discover new and amazing blogs?

What I’m looking for is one Blogging Hero from each of you. I want to know who you think is the blogger that, in your opinion, deserves some recognition for being the most creative, the most innovative, the most motivational, the most hard working, the most generous, the most [your word]; the most generally INSPIRING blogger out there. The one that you regularly visit because you know they will always deliver, always respond, always be willing to help.

As much as I love the super bloggers I’m not really looking for 20 suggestions for Man Repeller or Atlantic Pacific – I want to hear about why you’re such a fan of the medium and small sized bloggers. Let me know who it is you admire and why they deserve to be featured (I need the blog URL!) and I will add them all to a post I’ll publish next month.

So tell me: Who is YOUR blogging hero and why do they inspire you so much? If you can keep it to one or two short sentences (so I can include your quote) and give me the blog URL then that’d be really helpful. If you can, choose someone that hasn’t been nominated already by someone else. The more the better, and all blogging niches are welcome (this isn’t restricted to fashion blogs).

** DON’T FORGET THE BLOG URL **

You’ll be able to nominate your blogging hero up until Saturday 25th July (when I’ll switch comments off on this post).

Thanks so much – I can’t wait to hear who you suggest 🙂
Catherine

P.S. Whilst I’m not assuming anyone will nominate me, please don’t suggest me just to be nice! I’m looking for more blogs to inspire us all.

I would like to nominate Erin from Living In Yellow (www.livinginyellow.com). When I first started blogging, Erin encouraged, mentored and showed me so much kindness – I was terrified to hit that 'publish' button! We skyped often (for hours!) and caught up in real life a few years later… she is one of the most amazing, authentic and genuine people I've had the privilege to meet. I wouldn't have done many of the exciting things I've been able to, if it wasn't for Erin's friendship and support in those early days. Blogging has taken my life in a whole new direction I never dreamed of, so I owe her a lot!

Love reading this series and discovering new blogs. Please consider Ariel and her blog Artfully Awear. http://www.artfullyawear.com/ Drawing on inspiration from her knowledge of art history, contemporary art, texture and color, she puts together wonderful outfits (even blending in for maximum effect.) She shows time again fashion as art and the art of fashion.

  3. 5 August 2015 / 10:46 am

So many great new blogs to discover!
I'd love to nominate a German 50+ blogger, Cla of http://www.glamupyourlifestyle.com – great clean style and I am so glad I have met her through blogging and we became friends.

P.S. There is another blogger who helped me so much and answered all my stupid questions when I started blogging… but I am not allowed to nominate her 😉 xx

Oh God. SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM. I heart Hannah Gale from http://hannahgale.co.uk. I love her style and frequently snort coffee over my keyboard from laughing so hard when reading her posts. She writes about everything from fashion to homeware, mental illness to recipes and a dash of travel thrown in for good measure. Fun, sassy and my ultimate blogging role model 🙂 xx

    • 7 August 2015 / 11:00 am

I second Hannah Gale, only recently discovered but her style is so creative and her posts fun to read!

  5. 4 August 2015 / 8:55 pm

I nominate Julia from http://stylonylon.com/ She is such an amazing photographer, has great laid back style and I find her blog a really peaceful place to be. Also having met her in real life, I can vouch for how utterly lovely she is!
    A xx

Oh thank you so much Rachel!! I'm so flattered!! I hope that you're nominating yourself too lovely lady – I love your blog and how you make style so accessible! I'm also loving all of your wedding tips and inspirations posts lately! xx

  6. 4 August 2015 / 7:56 pm

Definitely nominating The Girl Named Love from us! Yes, it's really her name, and she is as lovely as you can imagine- as well as drop dead gorgeous!

Felicity and Lauren, Pretty, Posh, Oh My Gosh! xx

Omg what an inspired idea Catherine! You've given us a one stop directory of fabulous women bloggers to hook up with, you star! I nominate http://www.nofearoffashion.com because she's a super stylish over 40 woman who generously interacts with her readers. And if I may add http://www.beautyininsanity.com because I adore her sharp humour & also her generous interaction. It makes a massive impact on those of us starting out when more experienced bloggers (such as yourself & forever amber) respond & interact with us. X

    • 25 July 2015 / 10:34 pm

Michelle I can only take one nomination I'm afraid – luckily No Fear of Fashion has already been nominated so I can take Beauty In Insanity (both great choices)! x

  8. 25 July 2015 / 2:14 pm

Thank you so much for including me in your montage!
The lovely lady I would like to nominate is Lily Kate from the Joli House blog. Lily Kate is such a lovely young lady who has heaps of talent and personality, and is just as lovely in 'real life' as she seems in her blog.
She simply has a knack of capturing a moment in words and images. Her URL is http://www.jolihouse.com
Thanks once again thinking of The Barefaced Chic when you put together your montage of much awesomeness!
PS I am working my way through your montage and visiting all the blogs – my reading list is growing!! xx

  9. 24 July 2015 / 6:42 am

Dearest Catherine…you were sooo sweet to include me in your "Blogging Heroes" collage; and I'm truly embarrassed that I'm only now FINALLY getting around to thanking you with a little note here. For shame!! As wrapped up as I've been in my life outside of the blogosphere these past few weeks, I've realized once again how much you are my hero for the way I can ALWAYS rely on your posts for inspiration…no matter what, you never miss a beat!! But I would love to add my friend Dawn Lucy's blog "Fashion Should Be Fun" (http://fashionshouldbefun.blogspot.ca) to your compilation of blogger faves; she's my "fashion twin" with her boho- and rocker- inspired outfit combos, she's a genuine sweetheart who's wonderfully generous with her support of fellow bloggers…and her exuberant photos never fail to make me smile!! XOXO

I have to say I love The Rich Life on a Budget, Adrienne offers a bit of everything and her glimpses of Napa keep tempting me to visit…. I hate limiting this to one because there are so many inspirational bloggers out there.

  11. 21 July 2015 / 2:23 pm

This is a great idea Catherine, I have discovered some great blogs just reading these nominations!

Thank you so so much for including me in your collage. I am very touched.

I admired you from afar Catherine, before having the opportunity to work with you at Fever. You were as fab in real life- more so in fact- than on your blog. What others won't know is how supportive you have been both as a friend and as a 40+ blogger, so thank you. I would love to nominate you but I know you won't let me!! xxx
I have so many blogging heroes, many of whom are nominated in the comments above. One who has inspired me and filed me with admiration is Helen, The Flaky Fashionista http://www.theflakyfashionista.com/ She blogs about living with psoraisis in a warm and humourous way. She is self-deprecating and very intelligent. She has made a real difference to hundreds trying to dress with this disease. I don't have psoriasis but her style of writing and her lovely warm manner drew me in from the start. her blog has taken her around the world to speak at conferences and she's no stranger to a radio show! She's a real hero of mine xxx Love and huge thanks for everything, Liz xxx http://www.whatlizzyloves.com

    Hi Catherine,

I would love to nominate my blog…. http://WWW.FABULOUS365.COM By Laura Dunn. I have tips and fashion advice for women of all ages. As a FORD model and someone who has spent their entire adult life in front of the camera…. I have a few tricks of the trade and information on how to still play in the fashion arena no matter what your age, weight or budget. It all starts within and God gave us these beautiful female faces and bodies for a reason…. everyday should celebrate who we are as women.

Big kisses and lots of love,

    Laura

    • 19 July 2015 / 7:12 pm

I'm really sorry Laura but that isn't the point of this post at all (to nominate yourself).

It's a real shame you couldn't come up with one blogger who has inspired, helped or encouraged you – blogging is as much about giving back as it is about getting your name out there. I've given everyone the opportunity to give a little something back and unfortunately you've wasted yours…!

As you can probably guess I won't be including your blog I'm afraid.

      Catherine.

  15. 18 July 2015 / 8:00 pm

This is a great idea Catherine. It's nice to get other bloggers noticed in this way. I have to say there are a few bloggers who I catch up with regularly. Of course there's you! 😉 but then there's Frassy and Letters to A (www.letterstoa.com)

The one who I would like to vote for is Sophie who writes at Soinspo http://www.soinspo.blogspot.com. She shares great personal style on her blog and she's such a great writer. She once shared one of her short stories as it was a great read! She's also become a great blogging friend ^_^

  16. 18 July 2015 / 7:20 am

It's impossible to choose just one blogger as there are so many fabulous women bloggers. I interviewed many of my favorites for my style interview series. But I never miss a post from my friend Greetje at http://nofearoffashion.com She is the funniest, most sincere woman with great style who never seizes to amaze me.

  17. 18 July 2015 / 3:24 am

I nominate Sue, at Une Femme d'un Certain Age. The most consistent, intellifent, sophisticated, professional, and accessible midlife style blogger out there.

  18. 17 July 2015 / 7:47 pm

This is great Catherine! You are always so good at connecting us all, hence my nomination: you introduced me to Audrey of Frassy and then in turn she introduced me to Vanisha from A Life Unstyled (http://www.alifeunstyled.com/). Vanisha, similar to both you and Audrey really spends time connecting with her readers which is something I find so inspirational. Also Vanisha writes and posts with such care. Her main theme to everything she does, life in fact, is to live with style worth documenting and not documenting a stylized life. I would definitely recommend connecting with Vanisha. She's awesome–like you Catherine!

Thanks again for getting us all to collaborate and share!

    Big love,

    Ann

    Vanisha's website: http://www.alifeunstyled.com/

  19. 17 July 2015 / 6:15 pm

I am going to nominate The Fashion Medley http://www.thefashionmedley.com She has not only great personal style but an eye for good editorials, collections and so on. She doesn't have the smallest blog but far from a huge following. Worth looking at 🙂

Take care lovely and thank you once again for including me amongst so many lovely ladies.

    Daniella xox

  20. Adrienne Shubin
    17 July 2015 / 6:04 pm

Oops! Here I go not following directions again!
    Here is Susan's URL: http://fiftynotfrumpy.blogspot.com
If I can only nominate one blogger, it is Susan. She inspires so many women to be fabulous at any age and she does it in a way that's not preachy, judgmental or too out of reach. I just love her!

    • 17 July 2015 / 8:13 pm

Thank you so much, Adrienne! This is such a great idea, Catherine! You always come up with the most fun ways to share.

  21. Adrienne Shubin
    17 July 2015 / 5:59 pm

Catherine! I can't believe you included me…so honored, truly!
With a new business up and running, I don't have much time to read other blogs these days. But I always read yours and two others religiously:
Susan of Fifty Not Frumpy (really love her style and outlook on life plus her blog is full of helpful tips for being awesome in middle age) and Tamera Beardsley who has the most beautiful photos and outfits. Hers is an aspirational experience. So much beauty to see on her blog.
And yours has it all – inspiration, very helpful tips – blogging, fashion and beauty – and super stylish outfits.
Thank you again for including me. You are THE best! xoxox, A

  22. 17 July 2015 / 10:40 am

Definitely need to nominate Kerry Colson's http://fabuliciousfifty.com

Not only does she write well but she's one of the most sincere and clued-up people-persons I know.

Her blogs are informative, fun and a pleasure to read.

Oh Catherine, thank you so so much for considering me as a one of your blogger heroes and put me up on your collage. Such an honor to be here =)
This is kind of hard to pick on out of the many heroes that I have on my list. Of course, you being one of them =) If I would to be one, it would be Noor from Queen of Jet Lags (http://queenofjetlags.com). I love her OOTD and how she can manage to look so good even when traveling everywhere. She's very generous with information as well especially to help bloggers improve their blogs. I'm not sure if you would consider her blog as medium size followers or she's already a popular blogger. I think she's definitely on her way to stardom in the blogging world.

  24. 17 July 2015 / 1:53 am

Firstly, have to say that I adore your Hobbs raincoat!!! I would have to nominate Cherie at StyleNudge – she has the wonderful knack of mixing high end with chain store, topped on with something swiped from her husband or daughters and always adds a vintage twist. She also has amazing shoes and handbags… look for the photo of just her animal print shoes!!! You can find her at :
    http://www.stylenudge.com – enjoy!

    • 17 July 2015 / 7:10 pm

So glad you love the raincoat, Helen – thank you!

  25. 16 July 2015 / 9:32 pm

I'd like to nominate Daisy from Prettygreentea – http://www.prettygreentea.com
Daisy is encouraging, thoughtful and creative. I find her reviews so *useful* and she's always sharing her top tips on social media. I'm lucky to have her as a close friend too and she texts me every day to see how I'm doing with my goals. She's fabulous!

  26. 16 July 2015 / 8:42 pm

One of the bloggers that I really learn tons from and am inspired by is Abby from http://justagirlandherblog.com . She is a blogger that just keeps sharing her knowledge and is so genuine. She wants to help her bloggers be successful and so supportive. I have discovered so many amazing bloggers this year but Abby is never too busy to give advice (via private Facebook page) and encourage no matter where you are in our blogging journey.

  27. 16 July 2015 / 7:06 pm

I nominate Jennie's blog, Sailboat (http://www.sailorjennie.com/). It's the first blog I read every day. She is interesting, kind, friendly and has such a lovely welcoming blog.

  28. 16 July 2015 / 6:26 pm

    What a wonderful, wonderful idea.
But it is quite hard to choose! I would nominate Donna from What the Redhead Said http://www.whattheredheadsaid.com for her great reviews and child focused blog. She also does a huge amount to support other bloggers 🙂

  29. 16 July 2015 / 4:59 pm

Ah, I'm so thrilled to be included in this, Catherine, thank you! Other than yourself, obviously, I'm going to nominate Roisin of Dolly Clackett: http://dollyclackett.blogspot.co.uk/ Mad sewing skills, one of the best dress collections I've ever seen, and also hilarious: love her blog!

  30. 16 July 2015 / 3:01 pm

Oh what an honour to appear in your montage, thanks darling, you're an inspiration and great friend to me so I'd nominate you! Haha! Otherwise I love our mutual friend Rachel of Rachel The Hat and Yosa, a stylish, beautiful woman inside and out I lover her blog http://www.rachelthehat.com/ and of course her jewellery business yosa: http://www.yosa.co.uk/ who I'm an ambassador for xx

    • 16 July 2015 / 7:20 pm

Vicki…awww, thank you! And vice versa.. i would vote http://mummysgotstyle.com/ as a complete inspirational blog.. Great style on a great lady. And of course My darling blogging buddy Catherine.. how do you keep so fresh with your fabulous ideas? As always an inspiration. And thank you so so much for having me in your montage.. i'm truly honoured xxxx

    • 17 July 2015 / 7:09 pm

Two more naughty girls nominating me… Trust you two!!!! You're both very kind, thank you – I love that you've nominated each other! x

Love this so much. I highly recommend Kim of Penny Pincher Fashion. She's becoming a fantastic friend since we met via blogging five years ago and she absolutely is not only a talented blogger with a fresh perspective, she is an incredible mom, friend, and all around kind person. Honestly, I feel better for knowing her. http://www.pennypincherfashion.com.

I would nominate Vix from Vintage Vixen. She has amazing style, humour and she is probably one of the most authentic bloggers I've come across. She doesn't just talk the talk. http://vintagevixon.blogspot.ca/

    bisous

Melina B is my favorite fashion blogger because of her uniqueness and post-modern eclecticism. She is an architectural historian by trade and this is present in the unconventional geometries and different periods which are present in her style.
    https://instagram.com/melinabee/
    http://www.melinab.com/

    Thanks for letting me share!

  35. 15 July 2015 / 10:43 pm

I would love to nominate Anna of Noir Friday and not JUST because I shoot all of her outfit photos. She is honestly one of the nicest, most kind-hearted bloggers I've met on this journey, not to mention one of the most stylish. Her 3-year-old daughter has a more amazing closet than I do! And everytime we shoot together her background in publishing comes out — she always picks the most perfect outfits for the locations. They end up looking like Vogue editorials but with a REAL person, not a model ha ha. And I love that her designer closet was bought almost entirely on sale — who doesn't love getting an investment piece on sale?

And my Instagram comment stands — I would absolutely nominate you immediately Catherine if you would allow it. Your photography tutorials are my FAVORITES. I honestly email them out to every Chicago blogger who asks me for photography advice because you have hands-down the best tutorial on achieving bokeh I've found online.

And thank you for the feature!!

I am sooooooooooo honour to be amongst all these wonderful bloggers.
I have to have a real closer look anew blogger, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Brilliant idea, and a kind one, sooooooooooooo you
    Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  38. 15 July 2015 / 6:56 pm

Aside from you, Catherine, the most dedicated and informative blogger I follow is Amber, of Forever Amber. The sheer amount of content on her site is staggering. Once you click on on post, it's easy to fall down the rabbit hole. Which I fully recommend doing. I've learned more about the ins and outs of fashion blogging from her than all other sources combined.

    http://www.foreveramber.co.uk/

P.S. My browser is acting funny, so if you wind up with three of the same comments from me, I'm terribly sorry.

    Thank you xx

    http://www.befrassy.net/

(Besides you!) I love Audrey at Frassy for being such a beautiful soul who writes spectacularly and always puts her heart into her posts. She is a beautiful woman, too, but that is just the gilding on an amazing, amazing human being.

  41. 15 July 2015 / 3:57 pm

I am a newcomer Nigeria fashion blogger all the way from Africa. I discovered your very inspirational fashion blog while searching for over forty fashion bloggers and I'm so hooked. Would have loved to nominate you but I'd rather pop my champagne while waiting for commenters who are going to help me discover other great blogs, through not lamb. Thank you for being unafraid to rock all those lovely outfits. I'm inspired. Sipping my drink while waiting for nominations 🙂

  42. 15 July 2015 / 3:40 pm

I am new to blogging and just discovering how friendly, supportive and generous other bloggers can be.
There are some lovely people out there.
I love it when I comment on a post and get a personal reply….this makes the interaction more meaningfu and enjoyablel.
Of course, you are great at that …and also Mis P (but you are both epic bloggers) so I must nominate Anna Parkes, Anna's Island Style.
I don't know her personally but I like her fun and colourful style.
