Featured: Not Dressed As Lamb in Today’s Sunday Times Style Magazine

Hobbs SS15 black and white gingham dress
I’m so proud to have been featured in the Sunday Times Style magazine today!

The photo they used was absolutely gorgeous (thank you to photographer Billie Scheepers for such a great shot) and I thought I’d share it in its full length glory on the blog. For the feature we were asked to wear our favourite SS15 pieces from the high street, so I went with Hobbs after falling head over heels in love with their fit-and-flare blue eyelet dress last year.

[I must just say that in contrast to Friday’s post about how being a full time fashion blogger is totally unglamorous, this was in fact one of those rare – and special – times when it’s quite the opposite. If only I could be doing this more often…!]

The Sunday Times Style magazine

I’m wearing the Mono Twitchill Dress, a black and white gingham fit-and-flare midi dress, with the yellow Alderley bag and the black Skye courts. In case you missed it I documented the shoot (back in December) on my Instagram feed, and one of the best parts of the day was getting to meet ex Clothes Show presenter Caryn Franklin. I am so pleased to say she was beyond lovely, and didn’t get creeped out when I got all fan-girly on her and gushed about how I used to love watching the show. And asked her about her beautiful silver hair. While she was trying to get changed. (God this sounds awful now I’m writing it down…!) If she was scared she was very nice and didn’t show it 🙂

The feature is really great, but it did make me long for so many new things that I saw online whilst researching my SS15 picks (be warned, bank balance). Apart from the Hobbs dress and bag, I picked out some fabulous block heeled, embellished silver shoes by Asos and a pair of abstract-print trousers from new brand Finery London (see below).

I'm a little late to the party, dearest Catherine…but I still hope you'll accept my congratulations for your über-gorgeous magazine feature!! That black and white gingham dress is so flattering on you – love the wrap detail at the waistline! – and the sunny yellow bag makes me want to add one to my collection, too!! Glad you had this opportunity to get a little primped and spoiled…you certainly deserve it!! XOXO

Aww Deborah thank you – their pieces are slightly pricier than, say, Topshop or Asos but the quality is undeniable. And I just can't get enough of their midi dresses…!!

  14. 1 March 2015 / 8:29 pm

HOW BEAUTIFUL!! It made me go to the Hobbs site at once and order the dress. It is sold out at the moment haha. I took that as a warning.
Your shoot is perfect. Indeed a very good photographer. Congratulations with this feature. Well deserved.
    Greetje

Thank you Greetje – that's the ultimate endorsement that you wanted to go and buy it straight away! But it's not sold out – just not available to buy yet. They said it's available in March so I guess it should be any time now. And yes, Billie was a really good photographer, she was great to work with :))

Congrats for the article. You look gorgeous in the photo shoot.

  24. 1 March 2015 / 3:01 pm

Congratulations Catherine! I am thrilled for you. You look beautiful and it's interesting to me the makeup direction they took with you! Did you do your makeup or did a makeup artist do it for you? I'm curious! XO, Jill

    • 2 March 2015 / 10:31 am

Hi Jill and thank you!!! Yes I had a hair and make up artist do it for me – both were done very, very natural so I'm pleased that I ended up looking like myself. We were made up the way we wanted so I asked for natural face and beachy waved hair. Think I got both!! xx
