A Vintage Style Fit-n-Flare Coat | A Palette of Lavender, Pink, Tan and Red

Autumn/Winter style: Peter Pan collar lavender coat, tan boots, red bag

Is there anything more perfect than a vintage style fit-n-flare lavender coat with (gasp) a pink velvet Peter Pan collar…? Of course there isn’t! 😉

This beauty is from Fever London, the brand I worked with earlier in the year after winning their brilliant competition to find five women of different sizes to model their SS14 collection (check out the post here if you missed it).

Their collections always have a touch of the vintage about them, and this coat is the perfect statement piece for winter. The colour, fabric, fit and box pleats are all divine, and just when you think it couldn’t get any cuter… there’s a row of buttons in the pleat at the back!! (Scroll down to see close-up detail shots.) I almost had a fit when I saw them – it’s the most gorgeous and unusual detail.

Somehow I conjured up (what seemed like) a strange colour palette of lavender and pink with grey, tan and deep red – but I loved it. I’ve said it before, but a tan anything will always compliment my hair, so I don’t have to worry about tan boots/bag/belt, etc. not actually matching anything else in my outfit.

Have you found the perfect winter coat that does all the styling for you? Let me know what you’re wearing as your statement outerwear this year!

Oh so the same as Monika! I really need a coat but am always drawn to black which is unfortunate as I have fawn Pugs! I love the style of this but I'm a bit chunky round the middle so not sure if it would be terribly flattering ( Oh gosh here goes the tent search again!!). My Mum used to say if you had a decent coat then it didn't matter too much what you had underneath, unless you had to take it off of course!!
    Looks lovely on you xx

Would you believe I don't even own a black coat, Mel…?! I have coats with black as part of a pattern, but not an all black coat. And don't forget that a fit-n-flare shape would give the impression of a waist, so it's worthy trying that style to see if it does suit you… you never know!
Anyway thank you for your lovely comment! xx

I don't have a colourful coat for autumn/winter, dearest Catherine…and this vision in lavender and pink is making me realize that I desperately need one!! I mean, once the weather gets chilly, it's the only part of our outfit that most people get to see…so why not make a bit of a statement, right?! P.S. I agree…that back button detail is divine!! XOXO

I think Fever is a great brand for adding lovely little details like the buttons – though I had no idea they were there till I received the coat, so you can imagine how happy they made me!! Thank you Monica x

What a stunning coat! I love all the great details from the pleating to the back buttons. I bought a plaid coat earlier this year that I am looking forward to use now that sunny California is just a bit cooler but still sunny.
