Black, White and Red | Mixed Checks and Tartan for Winter

Winter style: Black and white plaid and red tartan
I think I’m going to be all over mixed checks this autumn/winter – and I’m feeling a strong urge to stock up on oversized tartan scarves too. One (this red one) just doesn’t seem enough! Both of these pieces are from last winter, though the check trend is still going strong and you can get some beauties online right now. This black and white check coat from Asos is similar and this red tartan scarf is pretty much a dead ringer for mine, though I’ve got my eye on a black tartan version after seeing new (to-me) blogger Ashley from Array of Style looking amazing in hers.

So are you rocking the tartan/check/plaid this season – and have you broken out the woolly hats and beanies like me yet?! Do share in the comments (and please don’t miss the note below about voting for me in the UK Blog Awards, lovely readers)…

Haha, the hat is everything! I love playful hats like that one! And of course, the tartan scarf is spectacular! I saw some gorgeous, huge scarves in Zara, I'm too stingy to get one, but damn, they were beautiful!

I think huge oversized scarves are going to be my "thing" this winter, Keit… how did you resist the ones in Zara?! You have more willpower than me…!! Thanks sweetie x

    Hi Catherine,

I always feel dwarfed in plaid – but shall possibly try it next winter when it rolls down here.

Your bag totally steals the show for me. Love it

    Have a stunning day

That's funny you say about feeling dwarfed by plaid, Wendy – it tends to be the go-to pattern for most people, even those who are afraid of it! But I'm glad you'll try it when you have your winter…! Thank you sweetie x
