4 Ways to Wear a Biker Jacket | Part Two: With Trousers

8 Ways to Wear a Biker Jacket (With Pants)
Last month I published part one – 4 Ways to Style a Biker Jacket (With Skirts) – and for part two I’m doing (rather obviously) a biker jacket with trousers. The temperatures have dropped significantly in the UK since the first post was written, so my biker jacket is a much more practical option for the ‘real’ autumn we’re now having.

Whereas I normally add a biker jacket to a skirt or dress to add some edge or to make an outfit a little more casual, I’ll wear it with my jeans and trousers daily as a fail-safe throw on. Here’s four of the ways I’ve worn mine over the last couple of years for some weekend inspiration (look how dark my hair was compared to now)…!

Have you been inspired to wear a biker jacket with skirts since the last post? And what do you favour most in the way of trousers: loose boyfriend fit or skinnies (I do both) – let me know in the comments!

Leather jacket & military green trousers

1. With loose-fit military-style trousers

(original post)

Even though I wore this a couple of years ago, I still absolutely love the combination of biker jacket, military-style trousers and blue suede heels. A short jacket works well with loose or boyfriend fit trousers and jeans, and a classic leather biker jacket adds to that boyish feel. I think I may well be wearing another version of this outfit this autumn/winter!

Bowler hat, leather moto jacket & red skinny jeans

2. With a sheer top, coloured denim, hat and riding boots

(original post)

Black leather riding boots echo a leather biker jacket perfectly and, rather than standard blue jeans, go for coloured skinnies to inject some colour. I love the contrast of a delicate sheer blouse with the “hard” black leather and a masculine bowler hat – it adds a nice mish-mash of textures and fabrics.

How to style dungarees | with a black leather jacket

3. With dungarees and Adidas originals

(original post)

Love ’em or hate them (I love them), dungarees look great with a blazer or jacket worn over the top. It covers the somewhat messy straps on the back, so you get the relaxed feel of wearing dungarees but without looking too much like you’re about to paint the kitchen. I kept the colour palette very clean here – Adidas Superstar Originals add some sportswear chic to the overall look (overall look? Get it?!)

Biker jacket, purple skinnies & tan boots

4. With mixed patterns, coloured jeans and knee high boots

(original post)

Coloured jeans again, but with an autumnal essential of a scarf and some funky pattern mixing. This time I added tan knee-high boots – there’s no need to match your boot colour to your biker jacket colour at all. I tied in the tan colour with my belt, plus tan anything will always work with my hair. Again, lots of textures, colour and pattern are kept nice and ‘neat’ with a classic biker jacket – you can’t go wrong, in other words.

My jacket is from a couple of years ago so no longer available I’m afraid, but is most like mine if you want to go for something similar. Here are the best biker jackets I could find (with varying price levels for all budgets, and I found as many as I could with great reviews):

I'm glad you didn't ask us to choose a fave, dearest Catherine…'cause it wasn't gonna happen!! 😉 I think my own moto jacket is going to be seeing the light of day again very soon, as well; I usually wear it as part of an all-black look, but your colourful ensembles have me totally inspired!! XOXO

Hi Catherine, I hope you are well. xx I think the last look would suit me the best (I'm also a little obsessed with the colour purple). I have to say you are rocking the biker jacket look.
    Have a nice day.

Aww thanks Anna – and I think I'm a bit purple-obsessed already this autumn without realising it!!

I've scoured the interwebs JJ and can't find anything quite like them – a shame!! Thank you hun x

Again, not for me. Looks fabulous on you, but it is not good on me. Short jackets/trousers/hips/bum… You know the story by now. I have solved it by buying a green fitted leather jacket. Is is softer.

I love the colours of that one too – that's why I'm going to create a new version of the outfit! Thank you hun x

Love the look with the red jeans! Naturally, you look splendid in everything, anything. xox

  6. 10 October 2014 / 10:23 pm

I would wear any of the above looks but the coloured jeans look is my favourite. For me, I tend to wear boyfriend jeans or trousers that are comfy in the daytime or skinnies in the evening.

I've not thought of the skinnies more for evening, Lorna…! Thanks hun x

4 great looks, I think skinnies if I am wearing tall boots and loose b/f's with a shorter boot, topped with the moto/biker jacket of course

I think those combos work well too, Linda! x
