Polka Dot Top & Neon Pink Heels | £50 Zalando Voucher Giveaway

Black & white polka dots with chinos
Not only is this the outfit I wore to the South West Blog Social in Exeter a couple of Saturdays ago, but I’m also offering a £50 gift voucher in a Zalando UK giveaway! The polka dot sweatshirt (I’ve wanted one of these for so long), silk scarf and amazing cork-effect and neon pink heels are all from Zalando, which has become one of my favourite online retailers. The range they stock is vast, they do free delivery, plus the prices range from the very, very affordable to designer prices – something for all tastes and budgets. (Scroll down for the Rafflecopter widget to enter the giveaway.) I also wore my fabulous kuka-me silver earrings and ring – which received a lot of compliments on the day – and my trusty Maxwell Scott Birkin-style Barella bag once again… it just goes with everything.

The SW Blog Social was a great medium-sized blogger event, with guest speakers, workshops and pop-up shops – and held in Exeter which is just down the road from me. (It’s not often that an event is held near me down here in the South West.) It was really well organised and a lot of fun – I met some great girls and made some good contacts. For me the most valuable information was a talk on how to get your work as a writer published – as a new freelance writer I need all the advice I can get, and I learnt a lot from writer/guest speaker Maria McCarthy (thank you Maria)! Blogger meet ups and events are always, always a fabulous way to connect with the blogging community – if you haven’t been to one, then just take a deep breath and go 🙂

So back to the giveaway: if you’re a UK resident then you could win £50 to spend with Zalando – it’s an online voucher so you can put it towards something if you see something over that amount. I’ve selected a few pieces below that are all £50 or less for you to see what you could get with your money… good luck!

One of the mandatory entries is to leave a comment on this post with your best blogging tip – this was one of the things we were asked to Tweet about at the blogger meet – so get thinking, Brit Bloggers!

Greta giveaway! My tip is pretty simple, and just blog about what you love! Don't try to please everyone, just make sure you're happy 🙂 xx

  17. 30 June 2014 / 2:03 pm

when you start up it helps if you do some small giveaways; you'll gain followers to get you up and running.

  18. 29 June 2014 / 11:49 pm

Be honest to the people who are reading your blogs and try to have fun while your doing them as if your not having fun doing them people will notice.

  19. 29 June 2014 / 8:26 pm

Keep to a schedule, whether that's daily, weekly or somewhere in between. Nothing's worse than a blog that hasn't been updated in a month or more – you'll lose followers. Oh – and leave comments on other people's blogs – they may reciprocate! 😉

  20. 29 June 2014 / 6:37 pm

Me gusta mucho la combinación del look, no era fácil combinar el gersey con un pañuelo, y lo has hecho muy bién, enhorabuena!!! Me encanta que me sorprendan!!!

  21. 29 June 2014 / 12:27 pm

Be interesting and topical but also vary it a bit sometimes to get new viewers

  22. 28 June 2014 / 8:06 pm

Helpful information that is interesting and relevant to read

  23. 28 June 2014 / 8:02 pm

I would say, to offer photographs that illustrate your points and to not over explain things with too much text.

  24. 28 June 2014 / 7:00 pm

A blog should have beautiful, clear photos

  25. 27 June 2014 / 11:54 pm

Your blog should be honest, that's the main thing in my opinion.

  26. 27 June 2014 / 10:09 am

My best blogging tip is to write for yourself in the first place – your voice is really important and it will shine through!

    Jane x

  27. 25 June 2014 / 12:26 pm

I'm not a blogger myself but i love blogs that are quirky and engaging with lots of picture's/photo's to provide interest and help get the point across

  28. 25 June 2014 / 9:59 am

Try to stick to a timetable for posts – it doesn't have to be every day, it could only be once or twice a week but commit to it and stick to it so your readers know what to expect

  29. 25 June 2014 / 2:00 am

Oh darn…too bad this giveaway is only for UK residents, dearest Catherine!! I'm head-over-heels for anything striped right now, and I would have loved to use the voucher for that adorable Esprit dress!! Polka dots are next on my list, though; love the "sassiness" they give your look today!! And that Birkin-style bag is sooo gorgeous!! XOXO

Be yourself (and use spell check!)

  31. 24 June 2014 / 9:28 pm

I've only blogged for a little while, so I don't really have good tips to give yet, but I think making your posts easy and pleasant to read is super important (proper grammar and spelling included!). 🙂

  32. 24 June 2014 / 9:14 pm

I loved this outfit when you wore it to the SW blog event. Maria McCarthy was my favourite speaker too, but I did miss a few due to being downstairs and missing any announcements. I'm not sure I have a best blogging tip, but I do think staying in touch with other bloggers and being active on social media is crucial, to keep informed of what is going on in the blogging world, and also to feel part of something bigger, not getting bogged down in your own blog.

  33. 24 June 2014 / 8:53 pm

I love the way you teamed your polka dot print top with the printed neck scarf. And the pops of neon look striking. Wonderful as always Catherine 🙂

    Take care,
    Daniella xox

  34. 24 June 2014 / 6:39 pm

I love your outfit 🙂 My best blogging tip is to blog about things you feel strong about, and to blog when you feel like it, not when you feel you should. But most of all enjoy it.

  35. 24 June 2014 / 4:15 pm

Be honest and always be yourself 🙂

  36. 24 June 2014 / 1:45 pm

best blogging tip i would say is be social, whether that be blog hops or replying to comments or on twitter. Making friends (a la You my lovely) is one of the best parts of blogging :)xxx

  37. 24 June 2014 / 1:29 pm

write frequently – no one wants an un-updated blog

  38. 24 June 2014 / 10:44 am

Write lots of reviews and hauls!

  39. 24 June 2014 / 8:12 am

I prefer blogs where the page is nice and clear, sometimes the backgrounds can make the fonts harder to see. I like to read a variety of articles so as long as the variety is there then there should be something for everyone!

  40. 23 June 2014 / 11:32 pm

    Write about what you love

  41. 23 June 2014 / 10:14 pm

Always speak the truth, that is what people want to hear.

  42. 23 June 2014 / 10:09 pm

Offer competitions to increase viewings, add interest and get people excited!

  43. 23 June 2014 / 10:06 pm

    Write what you know.

  44. 23 June 2014 / 9:10 pm

My blogging tip would be not to give up at first when no-one comments as readership takes a while to grow so you have to be patient.
Also I was going to go to the SW Blog Social as I live nearby too but was nervous about going alone – wish I had gone! 🙂

  45. 23 June 2014 / 9:07 pm

My blogging tip would be to not be afraid to promote yourself! Get involved in Twitter chats and push out your content on social channels x

  46. 23 June 2014 / 8:04 pm

My tip would be don't try to be anyone else! Love the polkadot top Catherine x

  47. 23 June 2014 / 7:49 pm

I'm new to blogging so at the moment don't feel qualified to give a tip, other than blog about things you enjoy.

  48. 23 June 2014 / 6:41 pm

My best tip is to network with bloggers both in- and outside of your niche.

  49. 23 June 2014 / 5:49 pm

Comment on other peoples blog posts! Also honesty is the best way to write 🙂

  50. 23 June 2014 / 5:47 pm

honesty esp when doing reviews, if you don't like something tell your readers the truth about it 🙂

  51. 23 June 2014 / 5:25 pm

Love the dots with the classic scarf. Blog tip: write what you're thinking about, passionate about or annoyed about. Keep it personal and authentic. xox

  52. 23 June 2014 / 4:00 pm

I love that scarf and sweater together, and the shoes are amazing:)

  53. 23 June 2014 / 3:53 pm

Write every day, without fail. If you don't not only will your blog look sparse, but you will lose touch with your creativity. It needs to be used to improve.

    Stunningly Inept

  54. 23 June 2014 / 3:46 pm

I would never think to pair that scarf and that sweater together but you've done it with ease! Thanks for inspiring me to get a little bolder with my patterns!

  55. 23 June 2014 / 3:42 pm

Write lists. Write lots and lots of lists! When you think of an idea, write it down straight away. Even if you think it's a silly one. Sometimes silly ideas, develop into brilliant ones. But you'll never know if you've already forgotten it!

  56. 23 June 2014 / 3:14 pm

Make your blog as personal to your style as possible

  57. 23 June 2014 / 2:57 pm

Write what you want to read. Be yourself 🙂

  58. 23 June 2014 / 2:35 pm

Love those heels – in fact the whole outfit looks chic! I am not a blogger but so I will tell you what I most like to see – photos of the blogger so we can see the person behind the posts thank you!

  59. 23 June 2014 / 2:25 pm

Love the sweater! My best tip would be to always include an image… just text can look bland on the page.
