Summer-Style Colour Blocking

Colour blocking, summer style

How beautiful is this coloured blocked blouse?

There’s nothing more satisfying than the simple way that summer allows us to dress: a summer dress and heels? Done. Jeans and t-shirt? Done. Statement blouse and trousers? Done, done, and done. This simple (but extremely elegant) coloured-blocked Tracy placket blouse was sent to me by TM Lewin – a great British brand known for their menswear, but it turns out their womenswear is just as luxurious and beautifully designed. The Peter Pan collar gives it that feminine touch and the blue is the perfect shade for summer – plus I love buttons that are covered at the front.

And who would have thought sky blue would go so well with mint? With bold black and white and a flash of gold, this is my go-to smart look for this summer. If the sun ever makes an appearance, that is…!

Are you still loving the colour-blocked trend? If so, what colours are you favouring – do let me know in the comments!

What a great outfit! So chic and mostly so affordable! I love the look of those mint trousers but I suspect they wouldn't look so elegant on my rather plumper figure…

I like the blouse. I adore the bag and sandals. You have beautiful feet for sandals.

A lot of women (like myself) ruin their feet (toes really) by wearing shoes which are too tight. That is why it is so nice to see feet that are unharmed and also in a nice curve.

Very sleek, dearest Catherine!! I like the way the two shades (your mint trousers, and the blue trim on the blouse) play off each other…I think that with this colour-blocking trend, we've all kind of learned that there really aren't any colours that don't "go" together!! But some combinations will always be especially effective…and I think you've hit on one of them here!! 🙂

So classy! That blouse is super – to be honest I wouldn't have thought of looking in TM Lewin for womenswear, I assumed it was all a bit corporate. I'll have to give it a chance! P x
