More Boyfriend Jeans | Distressed & Doubled With A Winter Knit

Winter double denim, cozy knit & beanie
I did the inevitable: I bought the lighter, distressed version of the dark boyfriend jeans from Asos I wore in this post.

That’s what happens when they’re in the sale at less than half price!

This was a super casual, throw-it-on outfit I wore to pop over and see the parents last weekend. It was several hours before the second inevitable thing happened: at least one of them commented on the state of my jeans. I didn’t have the heart to tell my dad that I bought them new – though he likes reading my blog so hi, Pa! I’m sorry but I paid good money for these jeans… And don’t worry but I am eating and I am looking after myself, and look – I wore a hat to keep my head warm ;))

If you’re looking to buy some boyfriend jeans, go for the distressed ones I’ve worn here or the dark, not-distressed version – when both are only £15 ($27.78) in the Asos sale you can hardly go wrong.

What do you think – have I done enough convincing on the boyfriend jeans front…?!

Catherine x

Love the boyfriend jeans…I'm currently looking for a pair myself, maybe I'll try Asos – $28 dollars is a great bargain. I really like your sweater too.

I haven't worn boyfriend jeans in years and sold my last pair in eBay but these look amazing on you! X

I am such a hat girl lately that I find myself staring at pics of people in hats, yea creepy stalker girl at times. You always look so great in headgear. Sweater is awesome and boyfriends vs skinnies, sometimes such a nice switch up.

This is the perfect boyfriend look for me… I think it's soooo cute, what do you say to your father. And I can understand that it can be difficult to understand for our parents' generation that we spend money for destroyed pants. Have a nice weekend, Conny

Thank you so much, Conny – and to you too! x

I only think of boyfriends with flip flops in summer, you are the first blogger to convince me they work with ankle boots and what a great price!

Thanks sweetie – I'll also be wearing them with heels… I like that look, I see it a lot. Heels were made for jeans as well as dresses! x

Oh, I like this look, Catherine!! So perfect for visiting the parents…or an afternoon at the farmers market…or meeting friends at a cafe!! The jeans are just the right balance of relaxed and skinny; and even though it took me a while to get used to the idea of buying something that already had holes in it(!), I'm all for the "distressed" trend these days!!

Thanks Monika – though strangely I thought it would be my mum that would comment on the holes!! When I was about 16 (late 1980s) I went up to London and bought a pair of ripped Levi 501s from one of the trendy street markets – I paid Β£23 (more than these ones!!) and my mum went ballistic. I'll never forget it :)))

My mom was just the same, Catherine!! She would never have let me out of the house wearing something with holes in it; never mind accepting the idea of spending money on clothing that was ALREADY ripped up!!

I'm on board regarding boyfriend jeans! My husband loves them too. I think these look great on you.

So cute! After I had a pair of white distressed jeans, I had to buy a pair of blue denim. And I wear them constantly (off-work) so there's that. You look wonderful, xox.

Oooh I like the idea of white distressed ones, Patti… nooooo – don't tempt me!!! Thanks hun xx

Haha yes he does, but with long periods in between, so it may be a while before he reads it πŸ™‚

Love this look, especially that cardigan. i've been looking for something similar, that looks lived-in (but not distressed) and that has a fun pattern.

Yes, you have done enough convincing. I love boyfriend jeans. I am still looking for one particular type, but as the money has run out, it will stay on my wish list for a while. Asos is nice, but not in The Netherlands. Alas.
Had to laugh over your two inevitable events. So recognizable.

      Hehe thanks Greejte :))

Just wondering – why is Asos not nice in the Netherlands (compared to the UK)? It's the same company with the same stock, they just ship to everywhere in the world…?

    • 2 February 2014 / 9:34 am

I meant, I don't want to order abroad and then having to send it back (shipping money) when it is no good. But perhaps I should look into it better. I might find out that they don't charge at all for sending and returning to The Netherlands. Who knows.

They look adorable on you! I still haven't found boyfriend jeans to flatter my pear shape, but I'm going to keep looking!

Lovely casual look. Looking forward to more.

I have been thinking about ordering those jeans since you first posted them – the price is fabulous and I could use a pair of non-distressed boyfriends. I am unsure about the sizing, I normally wear a 4 or 6 in US sizes so it looks like I need an 8 or a 10. My question for you is have you found these jeans to fit true to size? Maybe I should order 2 sizes so I can compare. Thanks for any help you can provide!

    • 19 January 2014 / 4:15 pm

Hi Kellyann – sorry for the delay getting back to you! When you've chosen the prices in dollars Asos change the sizes to US sizes, so don't worry about converting your size from UK to US. And yes I find them true to size – but don't forget they do free delivery and free returns – I always get two sizes and send one back if I'm unsure πŸ™‚

I really wish I could wear boyfriend jeans but they just look such a mess on me. I did buy a pair last year but when Hubby's comment was "what the HELL have you got on" confirmed for me that they just aren't me, you look amazing in them though xx

    • 19 January 2014 / 4:10 pm

Aww that's a shame, Gail – sometimes it's such a relief to wear loose jeans instead of skinnies all the time!! But thank you for your lovely comments :))
