Casual Autumn Dressing | Taupe Sweater Over A Red Check Shirt

Casual autumn dressing: Taupe sweater, check shirt & black peg leg pants

It’s one extreme to the other with my outfits this week: from Tuesday’s pink Mulberry dress to casual autumn dressing via a taupe sweater and check shirt today.

Both were worn during the stormy period last week – hence the same hairstyle each time (milkmaid plaits can just about cope with a gale force wind)!

This is probably the comfiest outfit I could muster without wearing jeans – peg leg trousers are a great alternative to boyfriend jeans and can be dressed up or down as the mood takes you (much more comfortable for a lazy Sunday than skinnies too). Some layering for warmth and a pair of brogues to add some colour to my feet add to the easiest non-denim look ever.

How about you – do you manage casual, comfy dressing without resorting to jeans?

All my comfy outfits are with long skirts ;). You look gorgeous, I love your hair style and the fact that your outfit is grunge but without yelling hahaha (I saw your bracelets and rings).
    Big hug.

My casual look is made by very comfortable skinnies (no pinching the belly), a wide but cute sweater thrown on top of it and flat but nice looking boots or booties to go with it.

Oh, such a great look! So comfortable and cute!
Pretty much any day I'm wearing pants other than jeans I celebrate haha. A pair of skinny navy trousers with simple flats is definitely my go-to πŸ™‚

Love your outfit – as always! Apart from jeans, I have a brown pair of M&S trousers, which I wear with brown lace-ups that I bought in a Spanish market (sooo comfortable!) and a variety of brightly coloured tops. Today I'm wearing pink: my new favourite colour!

I love your casual looks, Catherine! You always manage to look pulled-together yet comfortable. And of course you know I love those brogues. I recently bought a pair of cropped black pants, and I feel so chic and French in them with flats. They're my go-to weekend and travel pants.
