Dinner Date Outfit | Scarf Print Top & Palazzo Pants

Scarf print top & polka dot trousers
During our long weekend away in Portsmouth we went out for dinner, and as the heat was still overbearing at the time I was desperate to find something to wear that wouldn’t make me melt.

Luckily the restaurant had air-con (you never know in the UK!), so I was perfect temperature-wise in my scarf print top and palazzo pants.

I have found that scarf print tops can create strange shapes on your upper half depending on the pattern – thankfully the knot cut the diamond shape in half so as not to create an illusion of a large square rising out from my torso (which was the impression I got when I last wore it here). Have any of you bought any items with a scarf print? And did you find they create the same illusion thing (or is it just me…?)

Wishing you all a great week,

P.S. If you’ve seen my Instagram feed you may know that I was lucky enough to interview Gok “How To Look Good Naked” Wan at the Activia Feel Good From Within event last week with four other bloggers! I should have the interview published by the end of this week (I’m aiming for Wednesday) – he was as lovely as you’d expect and fascinating to talk to. We covered some really interesting topics including weight loss, self-esteem and fashion and makeup (of course).

I love how you rock palazzo pants. Every time I wear mine, people ask me why I don't get them slimmed down or why I'm wearing such big trousers. Yet I love them for the warm weather. They are so breezy and comfortable. I recently got a scarf print skirt which I love. I know it can be tricky to wear prints without them adding extra layers but seeing how you style prints and colors is very inspiring.

I like the top better this way, knotted. Good pattern mixing.
I am a bit ashamed to admit this, but I have never heard of Gok… Put it down to old age. I am not "with it" anymore. LOL

Not necessarily, Greetje!!! He may well only be well known in the UK (do you have the TV show How to Look Good Naked? He made his name presenting that over here). And thank you for your kind comments!! x

I love the scarf print, the motif is not overpowering as I have found with some that I purchased, allowing you a little more adventure. The combination with the palazzo pants is awesome, and the different prints are such fun. Nice ensemble all together!

The clutch in your pictures, who made it? I know it's not available but I love it and want to try and find one second hand if I can! I *love* it!

Hi Tiffany – it was made by Faith who now only sell through Debenhams, but it was several years ago… at least 3 or 4 years old maybe!! But if you have no joy, the one in the links at the bottom of the post (see thumbnail) is pretty similar πŸ™‚

I have some wide leg linen trousers as they are very comfy. My white ones always look good with a longish top but I find it hard to style my other ones without adding extra pounds (plus I am a midget at 5'1"!) I also knot my tops but am wondering if I need to go for very fitted tops (which doesn't fill me with dread in the slightest!)
