Pleated Chiffon Maxi With A Sweatshirt

Chiffon pleated skirt

Another outfit from Christmas time - and it couldn't have been a more comfy, easy outfit... yet such a pretty one (it's the skirt that does it). This is despite wearing a grey marl sweatshirt which is really a sporty, masculine item! I was inspired by this outfit I pinned aaaaaages ago and finally got round to recreating.

I've seen a few bloggers sport their own versions, my favourite of which recently is the lovely Brooke of What2Wear - see her version here. Amazingly, I've only just realised (now looking back on her post) she used the same image as inspiration.

What would we do without Pinterest, eh? We'd all have to walk round naked as we wouldn't have a CLUE what to put on in the morning, haha ;)

  1. I love this outfit! I like how the sweatshirt makes a fancier skirt more "daytime." So cute! xo Lacey

  10. Love the inspiration photo (adored the fact that the bottom edge even had some dirt on it from wear) and this is a great recreation!

  11. I am loving this look, the chiffon is so whimsical but the sweater gives it some grit. Looks fab.

  12. I love this combo! Love how the laid back sweater styled with the ultra feminine skirt looks and those printed ballet flats complete the look in such a chic manner. :)

    Take care,

  13. There you go again...taking seemingly disparate pieces and marrying them in perfect harmony. I love how you do this, and I confess this will likely be another inspiration outfit for me. I have literally zero sweatshirts in my wardrobe at present, simply because of the sloppy way I used to wear them. Hi ho, hi ho...off to the thrift store I go...

  14. Oh darned. This looks so good and I have a few items which could really do with an update. But this look is difficult for me as I don't have any hips. Have to be careful not to look like a stick. You have a much better figure for this.
    Lovely look.

  16. Such a pretty skirt and I think the sweatshirt is the perfect piece to go with it. I have a tendency to wear rougher pieces with my chiffon skirt too. I can't go all the way girly - it'd be weird.

  19. Love this! I was on the fence about a tea length chiffon pleated skirt...and you convinced me to buy it. My husband thanks you, I'm sure. lol Your addition of a scarf is so nice. I can wait to play with my skirt. And I think Pinterest is the equivalent of high school for adults- we are all looking at what others are interested in and getting ideas, (Forgive me, I don't know what would be your country's equivalent of high school.)
