My 2012 Fashion Blogger Bloopers and Outtakes

My 2012 Fashion Blogger Bloopers and Outtakes | Not Dressed As Lamb

Happy New Year everyone!!!

For my first post of 2013 I thought I’d have a little recap of 2012 and share with you some of the more ‘undesirable’ photos we took, rather than the best…

Before I clear all the outtakes off my hard drive I’ve collected the best of the worst to post here for your (and my) amusement. In some I’m caught off guard, others I’m goofing around and some I have no explanation for whatsoever. So sit back and enjoy, and take delight in the fact that, contrary to what some of you say in your lovely comments, I really don’t always look that good 😉

Blooper

1. The one where my blazer was not flattering

Beware: when the wind catches your blazer, you end up looking about ten sizes wider than you actually are. Original post >>

Blooper

2. The one where heels weren’t my friend

I was probably falling over in my heels here. Heels and fields don’t mix. Original post >>

Blooper

3. The one where I wasn’t a ballerina

You end up with many outtakes when you’re trying to create some sort of leaping pose. Most shots were unusable… this is just one example of how stupid you look when it goes wrong. Original post >>

Blooper

4. The one where I lost my manners

Two fingers up to the photographer. Original post >>

Blooper

5. The one where I had rubber legs

I have no idea what I’m doing here, but I don’t look happy. Also my legs look like they’re made of rubber. Original post >>

Blooper

6. The one where my hand did something weird

Goofing about, probably wanting to go home. And what’s happened to my hand…? Original post >

Blooper

7. The one where my sneakers would not come off

A classic example of having to change shoes from the ones I’ve worn at work (I sit at a desk all day so heels aren’t a problem) to something I can walk in to where we take pictures (quite often up a country lane). So nice of Mr. Summers to capture me when I’m struggling with my sneakers. Original post >>

Blooper

8. The one where I lost control of my hands

Probably messing about while camera settings are being changed, or I want to finish and go inside. Original post >>

Blooper

9. The one where I had over-demonstrative hands

Directing Mr. Summers, telling him what camera settings to use perhaps…? Or describing the size of something in great detail. Who knows.

Blooper

10. The one where my feet defied logic

A classic case of a “spinning around” outtake where you end up with a shot of both feet turned in. Not particularly flattering. Original post >>

Blooper

11. The one where my eyes wouldn’t shut any tighter

I think I was having some sort of fit here. Original post >>

Blooper

12. The one where I had some secret styling accessories

Ahhh… another classic: pulling in the dress I was sent by a company that was too big. I had to get the photo done for the M&S style blogger challenge, but couldn’t wait any longer for the smaller size to arrive in order to get my entry in on time. Bulldog clips to the rescue! Original post >

Blooper

13. The one where I was a bit too happy for my own good

I have no idea what I’m doing here… I think I was jumping and trying to look stylish. It didn’t work. Original post >>

Blooper

14. The one where I did NOT step in something

Wiping off the copious amounts of mud from my wellies (no, I hadn’t stepped in something) after wading through muddy puddles. Original post >>

Blooper

15. The one where I had to make do

Trying to redo (or simply clip back) my hair from my face after the wind has blown it everywhere is a common occurrence. Car windows and the lens of the camera both make handy mirrors. Original post >>

Blooper

16. The one where a bee attacked me

This has to be my favourite of the lot – was it a bee that flew in my face? I’ll never know, but it sure makes me laugh! Original post >>

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

So – proof that blogging is far from glamorous. Sometimes I’m amazed I look half decent in any photos at all – judging by this lot it’s a good job I have a patient photographer (a.k.a. my husband) who’s willing to take x number of shots…!

I’d like to wish everyone a very prosperous and happy 2013… make this year bring you everything you wish for :)))

Catherine x

Thanks for sharing ( so many months ago). It is a great post to show us that all those great photos of all those great bloggers are not just " random" shots. Me, I am still the " selfie" blogger but as long as O am having fun with it I am happy. Love your blog

What a hilarious fun post Catherine! Even your 'bad' pictures are high quality though and I agree that your last picture was the best. So funny!

  3. 3 January 2013 / 10:50 pm

What fun pics. Ah the life of a fashion blogger is not all perfection, but it is fun.

  4. 3 January 2013 / 7:01 pm

Oh gosh, this post really made me laugh. Any blogger will have experienced the same. And indeed the last one is a big hit. I thought I was the only one who put failures on her blog, but you do too. Thanks for that.

Hahaha! I can so relate to this funny awkwardness. And yet in every outtake, you are still darling!!! ~Sarah

Love it! I think that your ability to laugh, and not take yourself too seriously is a great quality…and does quite well at keeping us entertained 🙂

Your 'having a fit' photo is actually pretty good!

I can't stop laughing when I see your pictures! Especially the one when you change comfy shoes to heels and the clips at the back of your outfit. Definitely something I do pretty often too =D

Loved this! You looked great even with the bloopers. Thanks for a smile! 🙂

Very fun…but you never look stupid–silly and fun maybe but never stupid. And always fashionable. 🙂

  11. 2 January 2013 / 1:36 pm

So fun to see. I do a blog, as well and it takes me about 50 shots to get 5 good ones. The glare seems to always be my huge problem.

  12. 2 January 2013 / 7:19 am

haha…..but you still look glamorous! Happy new year xx

  13. 2 January 2013 / 5:38 am

Hysterical out takes. You are so fortunate to have a husband who can focus a camera:)

  14. 2 January 2013 / 1:30 am

These are so much fun! I have to say that rubber legs has really caught my attention, LOL. It kind of looks as though you are cut and pasted onto the background. Thanks for sharing!

Hi! Thanks for linking up. Thank you for your kind words as well – I really appreciate you taking the time to write. The reason for the text only link-up is that I don't often do link ups on the site myself, so I didn't want to pay the yearly membership for it, and the text link up option is free. That's why. Just things are tight around the holidays, you know? But also, a lot of the ladies do roundup pictures and one thumbnail wouldn't showcase 10 beautiful outfits.

Also, join me for the final link up tomorrow if you have a moment. Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    Joanna

I love that you don't take yourself too seriously. Seeing some of these outfits though remind me of why I love following your blog – your clothes are so much fun! I especially love the floral jeans in the 4th picture – hopefully floral jeans are still popular in the spring so I can buy a pair 🙂

  33. 1 January 2013 / 3:08 pm

The clips kill me because I recently did this with the SAME types of lips for a thrifted skirt that was too big 😉
We are all in it together…lol!
    Happy New Year my love!
