So International Polka Dot Day was a little while ago... just before Christmas in fact. But I have a habit of getting out of sequence with my outfit posts, so you'll just have to bear with me ;)
The day was brought to my attention by the lovely Maria of Crashing Red - and I bow down to her Royal Polka Dotty-Ness. (She is one classy bird; she's Australian and experiencing some serious heat in Oz at the moment - check out her lovely summery outfits and think of warm summers days. Bliss.)
So I went all out on the polka dots: bold spotty scarf, subtle yellow and white spotty cardi, and fun spotty socks. With another pair of brogues to add to my ever expanding collection (this time blue, oh how I love this colour), it was a bit of comfy fun for the hectic run up to Christmas Day. Seems so long ago now...!

Oh I love this, I think my favorite part is the polka dot socks!!! Ps I'm sharing your pattern mixing post on the What2Wear Facebook page this afternoon :)

As always Catherine the colours and prints you've combined look wonderful, you are a genius with print clashing and colour pairing. I really love the dotty tights and the smart/casual balance of the brogues and jeans. :)

Love your yellow polka dot cardigan! You always do such a good job mixing things up!
ReplyDeleteDang Catherine, this outfit has my name all over it. I'm completely dotty over spots for one. And I simply love yellow and blue together. I am contemplating a serious romance with your oxfords...that colour! Yup, it's all good and I must run off and play dress up now.
ReplyDeleteI love Maria of Crashing Red and was sorry I missed celebrating International Polka Dot Day. Perhaps 2013 will be the year.
Fabulous color combo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bright and sunny outfit. Makes me smile and think of spring. Strangely enough the tights are what pulled me in. Such cute little ankle dots!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Happy Polka Dot Day! LOL
ReplyDeletePolka dots are cute however for me it's all about the shoes.

Oh I LOVE those brogues. (and the polka dot pop-socks are right up my street too)!

Wish I could get your brogues in Canada. You have them in a few different colours, I think. Canada isn't the best place for shopping: huge country but a population so small, the companies don't bother much with us.
