I haven't worn my vintage Lacroix blazer much since I wrote about it a year ago when I first got my hands on it, as I've actually found it quite a hard piece to style. There's the danger of it looking a little frumpy (I'd mentioned it's quite "Ladies Who Lunch"), so I definitely wouldn't wear it with a skirt, but I think jeans is always a good fail safe. I teamed it with the brightest, boldest scarf I have to add something a little more funky to the mix. I'm pretty happy with this combo, and didn't feel like an old frump at all thank goodness :)
Something I hadn't noticed before when wearing it: the back of the blazer is so clever (and I'm sure this one of the things you pay for when buying designer), have you noticed the optical illusion the cut and the pattern make to create that nipped-in waist? I love how it creates an hourglass shape just from the lines in the checks... thanks Christian, I owe you!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Aw Catherine that blazer is a beautiful piece. I love how it looks with that amazingly striking scarf and jeans. The detailing at the back is indeed very clever and makes it all the more special. Also loving the hair, I always look forward to the hair styles you create. :)

Knocked Up Fabulous
the scarf definately makes this blazer less a "ladies who lunch" blazer too! What a great styling you have done!
ReplyDeleteLove how that jacket nips in the waist and yes, most definitely, you get what you pay for. Designer clothes are usually made well (some are losing quality as they continue to move to China) and there are little details you won't find in regular clothing. An amazing combo of color. :-)
ReplyDeleteOooh that's interesting what you say about China, Rachel: something to note for current clothes that will be future vintage, isn't it...? Thanks sweetie x
DeleteOh clever CL for the optical illusion, but you don't need any help in that area lovely! The scarf is an absolutely ingenious way to de-lunch the jacket - you are absolutely brilliant! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely fabulous - seriously your body is banging! I love how the colors really pop :)
ReplyDeleteOh Franziska you're making me blush!!! Thank you hun =more blushing= xoxo
