I'm afraid I almost totally stole this outfit from one I pinned here... I needed inspiration last weekend and had a quick peek at my Pinterest Spring Summer board the night before, so I can't take much credit for this! But I did add a pop of red with my plastic Melissa bow wedges and red belt, plus the outfit needed a hat. Rather, my bad hair day needed a hat ;)
This is the second pair of trousers I've bought since the Mint Chinos Debacle (or at least that's what I've called it). Long story short: first wear of perfect fit mint chinos; house exited with bottle of orange nail polish in hand; keys, bag and nail polish juggled whilst locking front door; nail polish dropped onto concrete doorstep; perfect mint chinos splattered with full contents of nail polish bottle; tears over death of perfect mint chinos; perfect mint chinos totally sold out online and in all stores; online trouser shopping frenzy to help me get over death of perfect mint chinos.
The first pair (not chinos) I purchased in this two month frenzy have been worn here and here, and now the tropical print chinos also have helped to fill the little hole in my heart. Now, I must go - the peach floral version has just come back into stock: only one in my size, Add to Basket!!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Deletehey, you should go all jackson pollock on those mint ones with the nail polish, now that would be a fun diy!

DeleteFabulous, fabulous outfit. I absolutely love the pops of red!
ReplyDeleteThank you, lovely Gracey! C x
DeleteI really like Duck's idea for "saving" the chinos : > Once when I was doing my nails in (brightest) red, my cat casually walked by and knocked the bottle all over my lovely coffee table. So have I learned to be extra careful when polishing? Nope.
ReplyDeleteLove those floral trousers.
Oh no, Patti...!! My dad still tells me off now if I paint my nails on the kitchen table or coffee table ;) Glad you like their replacement - thanks sweetie! C x
DeleteI'm traumatized just reading about the chinos and nail polish incident!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, I'm still not really over it Wendy (especially when I catch sight of them in my DIY-to-do pile. I have to hide the nail polish splattered bit...!!) xoxo

DeleteGreat outfit. Love the red. And you are very funny. With so little words you have beautifully described the perfect mint chinos chaos. I saw the whole thing in my mind like a play. To me a comedy. To you a tragedy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you saw it that way, Greetje (oh it's hard to phrase that without it sounding sarcastic! I mean it literally!) - I wrote it that way in the hopes of raising a smile, and I'm sure a similar thing has happened to most of us...?!! Thanks for your lovely comments as always! C xoxo
Deletethat is so sad about your mint pants!! your new ones look great! and you look fabulous in that hat!!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad, isn't it, Katie...? ;))) Thanks sweetie! xo
DeleteYou look great! You are no alone in using pinterest as a stylist. I'm not sure how I got dressed before pinterest existed. It's a bit sad, really. Speaking of sad... I'm sorry for your loss (mint chinos). I know that nothing can replace the love you had for them, but maybe buying more chinos can help heal the heart? I hope it works out for you and the peach floral pair! Visiting from WIWW!

ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsay, so much! C x
DeleteLovely ensemble. I think the Melissa wedge just makes your whole ensemble more interesting. I can tell that you sure know who to pull of chinos and what to wear with chinos despite the bad hair day.
