Easter Pastels: Cornflower, Lemon and Mint

Hope everyone’s had a lovely Easter weekend despite probably eating their weight in chocolate… diet starts tomorrow!!!

I’d had this outfit planned for a while thinking that Everybody Everywear was almost certainly going to be pastels, which it is, for April. Despite my reluctance to jump on this trend at first, I’m now loving all the pastel pieces in the shops. This is a very old cardigan that I really love for its little puff sleeves; it hasn’t been worn in a while but teaming it with white and lemon yellow has given it a new lease of life. And just for a bit of balance, I made sure my lips and nails were deeper, brighter colours for contrast (to stop me looking too insipid)!

Finally: rather than an Easter bonnet, I thought I’d simply wear an Easter egg on my head. Perfect bank holiday weekend hairdo ðŸ˜‰

Oh my word. LOVE this outfit. I have a pair of yellow pants (my "banana pants", as I refer to them :)) and I love to play around with different colored tops. The combo here (the blue/teal) is one of the best I've seen, though. Fantastic! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

Okay, Catherine… Allow me to introduce myself :).. Hello, I'm Whitley, and I've just found you via the EBEW challenge. I am with you.. I've never been a huge pastels fan… more for bright color, but I had fun with this in the end. At any rate… I am loving your ensemble. Perhaps my favorite part is the bun a top head. Adorable. So thrilled to have found you and, I look forward to more! I also want to add that I am eating chocolate while I am reading this.

    Warmest Regards, Whitley

Heehee that's so funny about the chocolate, Whitley… I'd be happy not to see another piece of chocolate for at least, er, another day 😉
It's really nice to meet you too – thank you for your lovely comments, I look forward to hearing from you again! C xx

I love your light blue loafers, they are so fantastic and fun! You have such an effortless style, I really like the mix of your pretty shirt and colorful pants.

Your loafers are too cute! Just now discovered your fab blog. I turned 40 last year and it was not too bad. In fact it felt fantastic. Finally, I am really close to the person I want to be and not the person others want me to be. Keep up the excellent work!

I WANT those loafers! (even though I just bought a pair of lovely cream and tan Fluevog loafers) What a gorgeous colour and I love the way they match your outfit in tone but not in colour. And your nails may be the inspiration for my first pedi of the year.

Thank you Frances – unfortunately I don't think ASOS have them anymore in mint, but I have given a link for similar-ish blue ones…! C xx

Gorgeous colors and the bracelets are wonderful. I had considered sitting out the pastels round-up, but I snapped photos today, we'll see if I participate.

    • 10 April 2012 / 11:45 am

Thank you, Terri… yes you should submit your link to EBEW, I often find the outfits of mine I'm not super keen on turn out to be the most popular!! C xx

  28. 9 April 2012 / 9:43 pm

I looove pastels and I'm so glad there are lots of pastel clothes in the stores right now 🙂 So much more fun than dark clothes.

  29. 9 April 2012 / 8:53 pm

I'm not a big pastel fan, so I always try to temper mine with brights, but this is just great. Maybe I'll really wear pastels for EBEW!

    • 9 April 2012 / 9:34 pm

Hmm I wasn't convinced either in 2011 when they said pastels would be big next spring, but now I love them. Thank you for your lovely comments, Gracey sweetie! C x
