    Hello,

I just found your blog through ASOS.

I am also fast approaching the 40 mark (I'm 37), have a love of fashion and am a self confessed thriftstore-whore. I struggle with trying to dress my age and weight, without looking like a frumpy suburban housewife, a mannequin from a shop window or as the saying goes…"mutton dressed as…"

I almost never leave comments on blogs, mostly because I think emailing a stranger is a bit off, but in your case I am compelled…… I think you are wonderfully fabulous, and I am dying to know, where you have gathered you fantastic wardrobe from? You seem to have a huge (and wonderful) variety, and I am curious?

    Cheers,

    C.

      Hi Chantal,

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! So nice of you to contact me.

My wardrobe is bascially high street, with little or no designer gear. I do also like thrift shopping and buying vintage from eBay to add some variety and key pieces to ensure I'm not dressing the same as everyone else! As I'm in the UK many of the stores I shop in may not be the same as in the States (assuming you're from the US if you used the expression "thiftstore"). But I list most of the items I'm wearing, and the main place I shop funnily enough is ASOS which is available worldwide as you probably know. The other brands I reach for is Very, La Redoute, Topshop and New Look (all totally high street).

I very rarely shop in the shops – i.e. I do most of my shopping online. My theory is that you can't be really objective about an outfit simply by looking in the mirror, so I take a quick snap of me wearing anything I've had delivered and study the photo, not my reflection. Doesn't work 100% of the time but it does help!

I hope that's the sort of answer you were looking for… by the way I rarely pay full price for anything, I nearly always buy during the sales or with online vouchers for money off. I'm very frugal…! Hope to hear more comments from you, it would be nice to have your thoughts on more of my outfits!!

      Catherine xoxo
